Sensual Sunday – Hot teaser from Heart of Darkness vampire romance novel
Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Heart of Darkness, which is a stand alone vampire romance novel, and a book that features one of my favourite heroes, the vampire prince Aleksandr. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…
WIP Wednesday on a Thursday – Unleash and Eternal Mates romance series – with sneak peek!
I’ve been working on Unleash again this week, although only for a couple of days so far as I was out of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday. Unleash is the next and final book in my Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, and features Snow as the hero. Yes, the one everyone has been waiting for!
I announced on Tuesday in my newsletter that Unleash will come out on May 18th, and I intend to stick to that if I can. I should be able to, but the slightest hiccup could cause a delay.
I did manage to make some fantastic progress on Unleash this week though. I edited up to page 209 on Monday because I spent most of the day in a cafe where I was focused on working on it and nothing else. I managed to edit up to page 254 today, leaving me around 50 pages left to go before I reach the end and call it a day on this edit and let the book rest for a while before I begin working on it again.
I will warn everyone that Snow made me cry again today. I cried when I wrote this scene, both for the period running up to it and long after. That’s normal for me, but I never cry when I read the scene again and I certainly never cry when I’m editing. Well, Unleash is an exception. I cried during this scene when I read the book over pre-edit, and I cried again when editing it today. I’m issuing an official tissue warning for this book. It will probably make you cry. I figure I should give away free tissues with every purchase.
When I was away for a couple of days, I gave in to my urge to read the first Eternal Mates book. I’d had a strong hunger to read it, and the first Guardians of Hades book, and I couldn’t resist reading it during my flights and while loitering at airports. My husband teased me with things like “So, what’s this Felicity Heaton like then? Any good?”. I really like this book, and all the hot males it introduces in this world, and I think you guys will love it too. I’m buzzing about this one. I want to write the next book now, but I have this edit on Unleash to do and I am committed to writing the next Her Angel romance series book for this year. Patience is not a virtue I possess and it’s hard for me to resist and write something else when I want to write a certain book.
Because I really enjoyed reading the first Eternal Mates book, I thought I would share a sneaky snippet from it today.
Sensual Sunday – Hot excerpt from Prophecy: Child of Light (Vampires Realm Romance Series Book 1)
Sensual Sunday is brought to you today by Prophecy: Child of Light, which is the first book in my Vampires Realm romance series. Sensual Sunday’s always feature a hot excerpt from one of my paranormal romance books. Read on for this Sunday’s sensual snippet…
Valentine reached out and gently caught Prophecy’s chin, bringing her face around until their eyes met. “What are you thinking in there?â€
Her eyes were wide and she swore her skin felt hot where his fingers were lightly resting against it. She shakily raised her hand and took hold of his, wrapping her fingers about it and letting the tips of them caress his palm. He frowned for a second, as though he was trying to figure out what she was up to, and then his eyes dropped to her mouth. She swallowed hard and parted her lips, letting her tongue sweep along her lower one.
She lowered his hand, holding it by her chest while she stared into his eyes. His gaze moved from her mouth to meet hers. There was fire in their green depths again, passion that she had stirred by doing nothing more than taking hold of his hand. Moving closer to him, her knee knocked against his. She smiled awkwardly, feeling clumsy. His lips reflected her smile and his eyes narrowed tenderly. She started when his hand closed around hers and pulled her closer still.
Averting her gaze, she stared at his neck and the marks she’d placed on him. They had healed, but she could still see them. Her fangs itched and tried to descend. She wanted to taste him again, wanted his strong blood flowing through her veins. Leaning towards him, she noted the way he released her hand and raised his jaw, as though he knew what she wanted and wasn’t going to refuse her.
Her stomach and chest tightened when she edged closer to his neck. She glanced up at his face and found he was watching her, but he showed no sign of stopping her. He looked down towards his shoulder and she took it as a silent giving of permission.
Darting her tongue out when she reached his throat, she ran it over the mark she’d previously placed on him and closed her eyes. His skin tasted divine and she could smell the rich scent of his blood. Her fangs descended and her eyes switched to their emerald state. She lightly scraped his skin with her right incisor, listening to his sharp intake of breath and feeling thrilled when his hand closed around her wrist and held her tightly. She licked at the small wound she’d created. The sharp metallic tang of blood filled her senses, blocking out everything but Valentine. She placed her free hand on his bicep, holding him while he held her. She nipped at him again, deeper this time, and was rewarded by another sharp intake of breath from Valentine and a droplet of blood.
Lapping it up, she inhaled deeply through her nose and savoured the taste of it. She bit her lip, barely registering the sharp stab of pain when her incisor punctured it. Looking up at Valentine, she grew a little more confident when she found blue eyes watching her. His pupils were dilated, making his eyes dangerously dark and full of intense desire. His lips parted slightly, revealing his fangs to her. She moved back to his neck and slowly, gently bit down on it. He tensed beneath her and she resisted her desire to moan into his throat when his blood flooded her mouth.
Her whole body trembled when Valentine leaned towards her, one of his arms wrapping about her waist while the other cleared her hair from her neck. Her brows furrowed when his incisors penetrated her. She dug her fingernails into his side and focused on the dual sensations of pleasure and pain that were racing through her. The feel of his fangs in her, his tongue drawing blood from her, and his own blood flowing into her, was like nothing she’d ever felt before. The intensity of it was overwhelming. All she could feel, all she could sense, was him. She felt as though she was a part of him and he was a part of her.
She slowly ran her tongue over his neck and the wounds she’d created, sealing them at the same time as he sealed the marks he’d placed on her. When she drew back, she could see nervousness in his eyes. Raising her hand, she went to wipe her lip clean with her thumb but he caught hold of her wrist before she could reach it. His hands were shaking as they held her. She frowned into his eyes and saw the uncertainty swimming there.
She noticed the blood on his lip. Her blood.
She didn’t have time to say anything before her breath was stolen from her by him.
He leaned towards her, his eyes dropping to her mouth and his hand still tightly clutching her wrist. She watched his eyes close as he neared her. She couldn’t breathe when his tongue darted out and swept gently along her lower lip, capturing the blood that lingered there. A shiver ran through her, making the stars on her skin tingle, and her eyelids dropped, hooding her eyes. She frowned when he pulled back and she realised that it was over when she didn’t want it to be. Finding her courage, she held his wrist tight, holding him fast. She moved closer to him, edging her mouth towards his, and slowly licked the blood off his lips.
She tensed when her tongue touched his and then relaxed into him, letting him hold her in his arms. She felt drowsy, lost in a sea of pleasure and willing to drown. She felt sure that she would if he kissed her. If the simple act of their tongues barely brushing each other’s made her feel like this, she couldn’t imagine how good it would feel to have him kiss her.

Snippet Saturday – City as a Setting – Heart of Darkness (a vampire romance novel)
It’s time for Snippet Saturday! Each week has a theme or is author’s choice. This week the theme is I Need A Hero.
This week my snippet comes from Heart of Darkness, which a stand alone vampire romance novel, and one of my favourite stories.
I don’t seem to be able to get my snippets to short scenes this month. It’s another long one and a scene I really like in the book. Aleksandr, a vampire prince and a skilled hunter on a mission of vengeance, has tracked his prey to Prague, where he meets a beautiful female vampire guard, Elise, and begins a different sort of hunt, one for her. Elise isn’t interested in becoming another of Aleksandr’s legendary conquests but whenever they’re alone together, she finds it hard to deny her attraction to him…

WIP Wednesday – Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) progress report and sneak peek!
I’ve been working on Unleash again this week. Unleash is the next and final book in my Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, and features Snow as the hero.
I didn’t make much progress on this second draft edit in the latter half of last week. I’m blaming my husband. He had to go out of the country for work from Thursday until Sunday, and it really distracted me. My work rate dropped dramatically. I wish I had gone with him because I’m sure I would have got more work done sitting in a hotel room in Barcelona than I got done back here at home! I had a weird domestic goddess urge that I couldn’t ignore, and ended up spending time tidying the house, baking, and getting more of our travel pictures up on the wall of our living room (if you’re on my Facebook fan page, that was the surprise for my husband. We bring back watercolour prints or print a photograph for every place we’ve visited, and I was getting one wall filled with them – it sounds easy, but it’s actually really time consuming).
So, Snow was on the back burner, but he didn’t mind. I got other work done that had been building up but I’m still behind with that. The lead I had given myself by not working on the second draft of Unleash on Thursday to Saturday has been eaten away since Monday because I have been working solely on Unleash, and running out of hours in the day. My balance is off this week clearly. I’m hoping to get back on track and find my balance between writing/editing and admin/marketing work again soon.
I have made good progress on Unleash now that I’ve been focused on it though. Since Monday, I’ve fixed a lot of the notes I had jotted down when reading over the book on paper, and have layered in some new information about Snow’s past. I’m now going through the book line by line to improve it and fix any problems that leap out at me. It’s coming along nicely, and I made it to around page 75 of 300. There will be parts that slow me down but at the moment, I’m on track with this edit and should have it done by the end of next week. Don’t get excited! I still have to let the book rest again and do another edit before it’s ready to head out into the world. The release date is still going to be some time in May.
To keep you all ticking over until then, I’ll share another snippet with you today. Want to meet Snow’s heroine?
Vampirerotique Winter Book Tour – Introducing Seduce with a hot excerpt!
The Vampirerotique Winter Book Tour has been under way for a few weeks now, and I trust you’ve been enjoying it and all the posts, character interviews, and fun stuff.
Today, I’m going to talk more about the third book in the sexy Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series and share an excerpt from it.
Welcome to Vampirerotique, the vampire erotic theatre where debauched acts take centre stage and the elite rub shoulders with aristocrats. Run by six sinfully handsome male vampires, four of which are elite and two of which are powerful ancient aristocrats, the London theatre is the most popular by far in England.
Not only will the acts on stage thrill and tantalise you, but the passionate romances that happen behind the scenes will grab you and melt you right down to your soul with their wildfire heat.
Our third visit to Vampirerotique, Seduce, centres on the icy aristocrat owner, Antoine, and a young female vampire intent on shattering the barriers around his heart.
Sera isn’t a woman of confidence, not like her ex-performer sire, and she’s only been a vampire for the past three decades. She’s an elite, and knows that as a turned human, she’s the bottom rung of the ladder as far as other vampires are concerned. She can’t bring herself to watch the erotic performances at Vampirerotique without turning a thousand shades of red, so what chance does she have of winning the sensual, beautiful, but emotionally distant Antoine?
The odds are certainly stacked against her but Sera marches on undeterred, even when her sire warns her that Antoine hasn’t been with a woman in all the time she has known him, and that’s close to a century.
If she has to take to the stage to get a chance to speak with Antoine in private, then Sera will do just that, in theory. Her sire has told her that she’ll only have to pass an interview with Callum in order to then meet Antoine to sign her contract. Sera can do that. She has no intention of taking to the stage of Vampirerotique.
But when it turns out that she won’t be having an interview with Callum, but rather an audition with Antoine, will Sera find the confidence to perform for him?
Antoine isn’t the least bit interested in auditioning Sera, even if she is Elizabeth’s child. His mind is crammed with a million problems and she makes it a million and one, but something about the young blonde beauty captivates him and even though she isn’t cut out for life on the stage, he finds he’ll do anything to keep her from halting her performance, even going so far as letting her continue alone. As she begins her private performance, Antoine’s usually strict self-control begins to slip and warning bells ring in his head, but he can’t take his eyes off Sera, no matter what the consequences might be.
Seduce is a story so hot it could melt steel and so intense it will move you to tears as Sera battles to crack the armour around Antoine’s heart and discovers his horrific past and his dark secrets. As the purely-physical relationship between Sera and Antoine begins to become something deeper, Sera must fight to vanquish Antoine’s reservations and convince him to open his heart to her so she can help him heal his shattered heart and the pain of his past.
While I don’t often write highly erotic stories, each Vampire Erotic Theatre story is packed to the brim with passion, without sacrificing plot, action or the romance. These intense hits of erotic vampire romance have reviewers and readers alike screaming for more. If you like erotic stories, but ones with plot, romance, emotion, and a dash of action, then give Seduce a chance and bravely enter the dark delicious world of Vampirerotique!
Read on for an excerpt from Seduce!
Teaseday – Seduce (Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series book 3) teaser excerpt
Today’s tease comes from the book Seduce, which is the third book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease… it’s a racier one this week, from near the start of the book when Sera is attending a show at Vampirerotique but finding it hard to keep her eyes off one of the owners, Antoine, a powerful aristocrat vampire and a man she fiercely desires and will do anything to get alone.
Sera stared at the blond male, imagining Antoine behind her like that, his face a picture of pleasure as he slid in and out with long deep strokes.
Her gaze shot back to the man of her fantasy and she found he was still staring at the stage with the usual detached look on his face, as though the sight of two men on one woman didn’t arouse him in the slightest. She supposed that he had probably seen enough shows that he was immune to their effect now.
A few impatient growls erupted through the theatre and he flicked a glance over the audience and then went back to watching the show.
Sera had tried to talk to him once, when he had passed her by after the show had ended with the feeding and the crowd were leaving. He had blanked her. He hadn’t even glanced her way. He had walked straight past her as though she didn’t exist. She had spoken loudly enough that he must have heard her. It was after that moment that Elizabeth had started with the warnings, revealing only a tantalising amount of information about the powerful handsome aristocrat, just enough to make Sera want him even more.
Now, she craved his eyes on her, wanted to hear him speak and know his voice at last, and above all, she wanted to look up into his eyes and try to see past the barriers around his heart so she could understand him. Was his distance from everyone just because he was an aristocrat, or was there more to it than that?

Month in Review – February
I’m back for another month in review post. What did I get up to in February?
Well, I wrote the first draft of the first book in my new series, Eternal Mates. It took me 11 writing days in total to complete the 95000 words in the book. That’s pretty good going even for me! I really enjoyed playing in this world and I have so many more books I want to write for it. The further I got into the book, the more I began debating whether I wanted to use this book to approach NYC for a book contract, and whether I wanted a big publisher at all. I had concerns about non-competition clauses and whether it would negatively impact my indie books, and personally, I have such fantastic fans that I’m making enough money to be a full time writer. The only thing NYC can offer me is better distribution and maybe a little kudos. Not enough to make me risk that non-competition problem though!
Eternal Mates book one is now going to sit around for a while until I’ve been able to edit Unleash, and write the next Her Angel book, and possibly the next Vampires Realm book too. I’m yet to decide the release schedule for 2014, but expect to see the series then, and hopefully it will be a few books in the series too. Ideally, I’d love to release the first three Guardians of Hades books and the first two Eternal Mates books in 2014.
I printed out the first draft of Unleash in preparation for entering the second draft and then read the book over. It’s better than I had expected. Reader anticipation and expectation for this book is really high and I admit I’m feeling the pressure. That’s why writing the Eternal Mates series was so great and refreshing. Absolutely no expectations about that one! I know people are waiting for this one, and have been since January 2012 when Covet came out. I need to make Unleash the best it can be though and that means it will hit shelves when I feel it’s ready, and not before. I’ll be working on the second draft in March. The plan right now is that the book will come out in May 2013.
I also announced that while Unleash will be the final book in the Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, it won’t be our last visit to the theatre. This is because I’m no longer going to use Eternal Mates to get myself an NYC book contract. I debated the pros and cons of getting a contract with a big publisher, and right now there are more cons than pros. Because I decided to indie publish Eternal Mates, it means I can go ahead with the original plan for the series, which is it being based in the Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series world. I couldn’t have done that if I had decided to approach NYC with the book because they wouldn’t be interested in a series tied to one of my indie series.
I also spent a week trying to get my marketing plan together and all my marketing information into order. I have so much research on this subject and most of it was scribbled on pieces of paper. I had to type it all up and then use that to construct a really solid book marketing plan, as well as a general marketing plan for myself as an author, aka my brand.
As for my time keeping. Even with writing the first draft of the Eternal Mates book, I only managed to get a 55% against writing in Toggl. I seem to spend most of my time dealing with emails and book tours, and blogging. I thought it would be social networking eating up my time, but alas, it’s not. It’s all the admin sort of things I have to do. There has to be a way to get more writing time!
All for now. I’ll be back next month to look back at my progress in March.

Bewitch Book Reviews
“Felicity Heaton delivers another swoon-worthy hero in Bewitch. This is the first story that takes place away from the Vampirerotique Theatre and allows the main characters to really connect, without any outside influence (a brilliant move on the author’s part). Payne and Elissa heat up the pages with their intensity and sexiness, but will also pull at your heartstrings with their pain and devotion. Bewitch is an emotionally charged read that will leave you breathless. Bravo Ms. Heaton!”
Romancing the Darkside — 5 out of 5 — Read the full review
“I actually really liked how Payne and Elissa’s relationship developed. They kind of started off with a love/hate type thing, but it quickly morphed into a much deeper feeling. The more they spent time together, the harder it was to deny that there was something more between them. Eventually, it wasn’t just a mission between two strangers, it was a fight for their lives and their love. I was completely enthralled with them and how deep their feelings were for each other. The protectiveness of Payne, and the compassion of Elissa made for a love so true, it was beautiful to see such a damaged creature be healed. I seriously need to go back and read the rest of this series. This installment was simply amazing!”

“If you’re looking for a hot, spicy read with elements of kink and a real emotional connection between the characters then Bewitch is just want you need. Another fantastic instalment to a wonderful series and I’m dying to get my hands on the next book to finally have the chance to read Snow’s story!”
