WIP Wednesday – Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) progress report and sneak peek!

I’ve been working on Unleash again this week. Unleash is the next and final book in my Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, and features Snow as the hero.

I didn’t make much progress on this second draft edit in the latter half of last week. I’m blaming my husband. He had to go out of the country for work from Thursday until Sunday, and it really distracted me. My work rate dropped dramatically. I wish I had gone with him because I’m sure I would have got more work done sitting in a hotel room in Barcelona than I got done back here at home! I had a weird domestic goddess urge that I couldn’t ignore, and ended up spending time tidying the house, baking, and getting more of our travel pictures up on the wall of our living room (if you’re on my Facebook fan page, that was the surprise for my husband. We bring back watercolour prints or print a photograph for every place we’ve visited, and I was getting one wall filled with them – it sounds easy, but it’s actually really time consuming).

So, Snow was on the back burner, but he didn’t mind. I got other work done that had been building up but I’m still behind with that. The lead I had given myself by not working on the second draft of Unleash on Thursday to Saturday has been eaten away since Monday because I have been working solely on Unleash, and running out of hours in the day. My balance is off this week clearly. I’m hoping to get back on track and find my balance between writing/editing and admin/marketing work again soon.

I have made good progress on Unleash now that I’ve been focused on it though. Since Monday, I’ve fixed a lot of the notes I had jotted down when reading over the book on paper, and have layered in some new information about Snow’s past. I’m now going through the book line by line to improve it and fix any problems that leap out at me. It’s coming along nicely, and I made it to around page 75 of 300. There will be parts that slow me down but at the moment, I’m on track with this edit and should have it done by the end of next week. Don’t get excited! I still have to let the book rest again and do another edit before it’s ready to head out into the world. The release date is still going to be some time in May.

To keep you all ticking over until then, I’ll share another snippet with you today. Want to meet Snow’s heroine?

Unleash – Sneak Peek

A breeze washed over his bare flesh.

Snow frowned, aware that there were no windows in his room. The breeze carried the unmistakable scent of snow yet it felt warm, and familiar.

Someone was in the room. He felt their presence as a soft caress that reached right down to his tainted soul and chased the black shadows from it.

Snow drew in a deeper breath of lilies and snow, the pure feminine scent stirring his body and soothing the tension from it. He held it in his lungs and slowly opened his eyes, settling them directly on the dark beauty standing at the foot of his bed.

She was stunning, with a fall of glossy raven hair that playfully curled around slender shoulders and contrasted against her milky skin, heart-shaped rosy lips, a button nose, and the most incredible yet familiar eyes. They were turquoise around the outside but faded to a brilliant blue at their centres, around the dark mesmerising chasms of her pupils.

A pure white dress clung to dangerous curves and full breasts that would make any man’s eyes linger on her, evoking images in his head that he shouldn’t entertain but couldn’t keep at bay. He had never seen a female like her. The white layers of her dress criss-crossed over her torso, forming a zigzagging line downwards from between the swell of her creamy breasts to the point above her navel. They flowed from there, free and untamed, drifting down to caress her ankles and her small bare feet.

Beautiful.

I think he likes her… what do you think?

Sure sounds like he likes her – am wondering if he knows her (or has come across her before). She sounds kinda dainty…. someone he can focus on protecting maybe? So want things to go well for the big guy… He deserves his own HEA!!!  🙂

Tracy, don’t be fooled. She could lay Snow on his arse if needed. She might look dainty, but she’s rather powerful.
