I have returned from my rather long holiday around Europe!

Well well well. I go away for a few weeks and when I come back, Blogger has totally changed! This will take some getting used to.

Did you all miss me while I was away? It feels as though I’ve been gone forever and I’ve been to so many different places, with different languages, currencies, architectural styles, scenery, etc that I think it will take a while for me to soak it all in. It was like different holidays.

It’s good to be back though and I’ll be sharing some pictures of my travels on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/feheaton ) just as soon as I can. I’ve waded through the 1000 or so emails in my inbox and have to address a few of them before I can get going on anything. I also need to catch up with my book sales while I was away, send out some emails, prep some accounting stuff, pay some taxes, and generally get my head straight and my schedule in order. It’s going to be a manic few days! (Let’s not forget all that washing that now needs my attention, and my cat who will be following me around for the next week to ensure I don’t disappear again).

I managed to read four books while I was away. I started off with the latest two books in Gena Showalter’s fantastic Lords of the Underworld series — The Darkest Surrender and The Darkest Seduction — and then I read the second book in Larissa Ione’s Demonica series — Desire Unchained — and finally I wanted a shorter faster read so I read The Nymph King by Gena Showalter. I had really wanted to manage to catch up on the Midnight Breed series by the wonderful Lara Adrian but I knew I wouldn’t have time to finish a longer book before returning to work.

I’ve also seemed to have come back to a very chilly UK. It was strange having 25c+ temperatures and bright sunshine in Switzerland of all places! The weather forecast kept predicting rain and the weather kept giving us sunshine. I’m not complaining but I’m now a little browner as we only took factor 15 with us as we expected temperatures around 20c and below, not a heat wave!

The huge amounts of sunshine did lead to one discovery on our holiday. My husband is a vampire.

Seriously. Whenever I stopped to take a picture, I would turn around a second later and he would be across the street in some shady area, hiding from the glaring sun. lol. I never even heard him move either. He’s fast and clings to the shadows. Yup. A vampire. Who’d have known?

Back to work for me. I have all this boring accounting stuff to do now and my office is a mess, and I’m sure it’s time to put another wash on and let the cat out again before she gives me another loving touch. She had scratched my hand within a few minutes of my return last night. That’s kitties for you.

Hope you’ve all been well!
