Julian closed his eyes. The minutes passed slowly, the sands of time trickling down to gradually form an hour and then two. He lost track of time as he waited, monitoring Lauren with his senses, searching for a minute sign that she was awakening. The sun drifted overhead and then sank towards the horizon. Each heartbeat was loud in his chest. Every breath was drawn for her sake.
Just as he grew tired, something sparked in Lauren.
Julian pushed himself up and moved her so she was sitting leaned against the pillows of the bed. He knelt beside her, watching, waiting for her to give a stronger sign.
Her heart faltered and then began to beat. She gasped and shot forwards. Julian grabbed her as she thrashed around and whispered soothing words to her, reiterating his promise a thousand times over. She calmed down when he managed to move closer to her and her hands went to his black shirt, gathering fistfuls of it and pulling hard.
His heart leapt when she turned towards him and curled up. Her lips parted to reveal little white fangs. The sight of them warmed him and an intense sense of connection to her broke over him. He’d never experienced such a strong reaction to her before but he liked it—he liked how close he felt to her.
He moved her in his arms, keeping her close but needing her to be able to reach his wrist. Her side pressed against his, her knees drawn to her chest. She clung to him and he held her tighter. A smile curved his lips when she mumbled something and then fell asleep again.
He couldn’t let her sleep, no matter how much she wanted to. Time was a critical factor right now. She needed blood to give her the strength to continue with the change and to bring her mind back.
“Lauren,†he whispered and jostled her.

Veiron stopped and looked down at Erin’s feet and her bare legs. She was shivering again and it wasn’t out of fear this time. The night was cold against his chest and back too. Sharing body heat sounded like a reasonable way of keeping warm.
“Come on,†he said and crouched with his back to her.
Erin climbed up onto him, her soft body pressing into his back and her thighs against his hips. Devil, she did feel good right there, snuggled close to him. She settled her arms on his shoulders as he straightened, his hands under her thighs, supporting her.
Veiron blew out his breath at the feel of her fingers sweeping across his shoulders and then down them. They paused and he kept walking, concentrating on the action to purge his desire to absorb the warmth and softness of her caress. If he didn’t focus, his wings were likely to erupt from his back and knock her flying.
Not the way he wanted her to see them for the first time.
Her fingers drifted over his biceps and then followed the sweeping curves of his tattoos to his back. She held onto him with her left hand and traced the tattoo on his right shoulder blade with her other one.
“They’re very beautiful,†she whispered, voice soft but not from her concentrating on his tattoos and being absorbed in following the design with her fingers.

Serenity opened the bedroom door a crack and peered through. The lights in the living room were off but the moon had moved around, shining through the windows to her right beyond the television. She slowly swept her eyes over to Apollyon.
They widened when she saw that his wings were gone. She opened the door, convinced that she was dreaming it, and took a good look at him.
They were gone. He hadn’t tucked them away. They just weren’t there.
He lay on the couch, his head at the end nearest the door to the kitchen, and his feet dangling over the end beside the windows. She stifled her giggle at the sight of him sprawled out so uncomfortably. He was far too tall for her small couch. She probably should have given him the bed and slept on the couch herself.
Serenity snuck into the room, tiptoeing and grimacing with each step in case it made a noise. She wanted to look at him for a while and she didn’t want to wake him. If he thought her black dress had been provocative, she could well imagine what he’d think of the small dark red slip she was wearing.

“How long?†Serenity released her arm and went into a large beech wood kitchen. She looked back at Annelie and then frowned in concentration. “I mean… you have been together how long?â€
“We’re not exactly together.†Annelie placed her backpack down on the tiled floor, leaned against the counter and looked over her shoulder, afraid that Lukas and Apollyon were going to follow them.
What were they talking about in the living room? She could see them through the door and they looked deep in conversation, both sitting on the beige couches that formed an L in the bright white room and both frowning. Was Lukas telling him about his appeal and what had happened? She felt as though she should be with him, giving him support, not idly talking in the kitchen.
Lukas removed his backpack, glanced over at her and smiled. She motioned towards herself and then him and he shook his head and waved a hand at her. She took that to mean for her to talk to Serenity. Perhaps it was best to give him time to talk business with Apollyon, and there was a lot she wanted to ask Serenity. Annelie felt as though she was her best chance for getting answers. Far better than asking Apollyon.
“I only just found out that he’s an angel.†Annelie tore her eyes away from him. “How was it for you when you realised?â€

Amelia swam towards him and then around him, and his anger faded away when she came to stand behind him and stroked his back.
“They’re beautiful. Are they really a curse?†she whispered, her warm fingertips tracing the wings marked on his shoulder blades.
Marcus stilled, his focus so intently fixed on her that every light touch stirred his insides, fanning his desire for her. Her breath washed over his wet skin, teasing it and he closed his eyes, wanting to absorb how he felt when she was so close to him. Warm. Hungry. Mad for her.
“Apparently so,†he said and she came around him. He caught her bare waist and drew her flush against him. She surprised him by taking hold of his shoulders, lifting herself up and wrapping her legs around his waist. He groaned and clutched her backside to support her, and then remembered the flimsy thing she was wearing on her lower half. He pressed his fingers into her bare bottom and groaned again, his body stirring and aching as he familiarised himself with her soft flesh.
“How did you get them?†Amelia leaned in and peppered his shoulder with kisses, gradually working her way along towards his collarbone and then his neck. He couldn’t think straight to answer her when she was touching him like this. It seemed like torture to have to think at all. She placed a single wet kiss on his jaw and then leaned back and rested her hands on his chest. Her pupils were wide in the low light, darkening her eyes, and he stared into them. “Well?â€
She really expected him to answer.

Today’s tease comes from the book Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series which came out on May 18th.
The angel meandered around his room again, the longest feathers of her black wings almost grazing the wooden floor with each silent step.
She delighted in the strangest things, such as looking through his drawers and pulling out items of clothing and holding them up for inspection. She rummaged through his wardrobe too, and held more than one shirt against her small, wickedly sensual body.
Those shirts would smell like her, and he had the stupidest urge to wear one of them tonight and carry her sweet scent with him to the party. It was almost as pathetic as the pleasing image of her dressed in only one of his shirts, curled up asleep and sated on his bed, that leaped into his mind.
She hummed as she poked at everything on top of his dressing table again and thumbed through several of his books. The same melody she had sung to him. The sound of it soothed his bloodlust and relaxed him, and he found himself enjoying her company.
She turned on the spot again and looked from his black-tiled bathroom and the broken mirror to him, her dark eyebrows rising as her gaze fell to his injured hand.
“Why did you taste your blood only to spit it into the sink?†That question leaving her lips caught him off guard and almost knocked the wind from him.
