Snow glanced up into her eyes and lingered, the red around the edges of his irises fading and the darkness lifting. Sorrow replaced it, but mixed in with that sombre emotion were others. Warmer ones that gained ground the longer he looked up at her, obliterating the pain until it was gone and only they remained, filling his beautiful eyes with a look that verged on tender.

Aurora breathed slowly, fighting to steady herself, battling to resist the urges that look in Snowâ€™s eyes awakened in her. It would be all too easy to surrender to the pressing need to touch him and feel the coolness of his skin beneath her fingertips. From there it would be but a step to lean down and bring her lips to his.

And then she would be lost forever.

Snow would claim all of her with that one simple kiss. She would lose her objectivity, and most likely her heart, and it would become impossible to bring herself to judge him with clear eyes.

Lilah kissed along his jaw, shifting her body down his at the same time, and he groaned his agreement when the apex of her thighs brushed his groin, stirring him back into hardness. He tugged at his restraints again and focused on the fact she had him tied up and at her mercy, and what she was doing to him. She licked the left side of his neck and lightly bit him.

Javier bucked on instinct, a flash of hunger burning up his blood and a deep groan escaping his lips. Lilah giggled and bit again, harder this time, and he snarled. She stilled, her rapid pulse pounding in his mind, the feel of her heart hammering against his chest pushing at his control.

â€œGentler.â€ Javier forced the word out from between clenched teeth, his fangs cutting into his gums.

He feared she would stop completely.

Lilah moved and chased that fear and all reason from his mind by nibbling along his collarbone. She pinned his shoulders to the bed and licked his throat again, tracing up the jugular, and nipped his earlobe. Javier fought to retain control. She lowered her mouth again and bit the curve of his throat.

His blood turned to liquid fire that ignited every inch of him, his balls tightened and his cock quivered a second before the world exploded in bright sparks that burned wherever she touched him, fiercest where her teeth pressed into his flesh.

â€œYou are to travel to the mortal realm and retrieve a female for me.â€

Asmodeusâ€™s black eyebrows pinched in a frown and it took him a moment to absorb exactly what the Devil had said and the connotations it contained.

One, he was ordering him to lower himself to the role of minion, retrieving him another female for his harem. Treating him like a servant. That irked him. He was not just another of the Devilâ€™s servants.

Two, he was offering him a taste of the mortal world, granting him leave to step outside the environs of Hell for the first time in his existence. That intrigued Asmodeus. He had always wanted to see the mortal realm with his own eyes and experience it.

Asmodeus stared at him, weighing his options. Swallow his pride and finally fly in the world above, seeing the buildings and the colours, and all the things he had only ever seen in the pool on the plateau, or tell the Devil to stick it and spend the next week in the cells, probably tortured, possibly maimed permanently for his disobedience.

Asmodeus swallowed his pride and it tasted bitter. â€œFine.â€

The Devil grinned, revealing short fangs. â€œGood. You will find her in Paris, in the middle of the park near the base of the Eiffel Tower. She will be wearing crimson and black. Bring her to me.â€

Asmodeus nodded, took a step backwards and then turned away from the Devil.

Liora ran her hands over his thighs, earning a low growl for her efforts. She wanted to curl up on them and fall asleep until her magic had replenished itself, but she couldnâ€™t. She had to find a way back to her world, far away from this one and the Devil. Right now, she didnâ€™t have the strength to teleport out of Hell, and wasnâ€™t even sure if it would work if she tried. She knew how to teleport in her world but the rules were different here. This wasnâ€™t her world and she would probably need to learn the trick to bending space in this realm before she could teleport.

â€œCan you take me home?â€ she said and knew from the way his eyes darkened that he didnâ€™t like that request.

â€œNo, not yet.â€ He leaned back again and stared up at her as she stepped back, trailing her hands off his thighs and coming to stand a few feet away from him. She frowned at him, taking in the number of injuries that remained on his body and how weak he had been when he had first returned through the portal.

He wasnâ€™t in any condition to transport her out of this realm and neither was she.

â€œIt is not safe right now,â€ he said and Romulus sat up beside him. Asmodeus stroked him between his ears, his gaze still locked on her. â€œLater.â€

The intensity of his gaze on her and her awareness of him increased, until the world around her fell away and she was aware of only him and the feelings flowing through her, lighting up her blood like firecrackers and reigniting her desire.

Before her sat a powerful male, bloodstained and beaten because he desired to protect her, a dark and wicked angel capable of incredible evil and absolute good. A king of demons on his throne.

Snippet Saturday – Author’s Choice – Her Wicked Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 6)

It’s time for Snippet Saturday! Each week has a theme or is author’s choice. This week the theme is Author’s Choice.

This week my snippet comes from my new release, the sixth book in my Her Angel romance series, Her Wicked Angel

Asmodeus stared at the female. Liora.

Apollyonâ€™s female, Serenity, was this beautyâ€™s cousin. That only made him more intrigued about why the Devil wanted her.

Did he intend to use Liora against Apollyon? Apollyon was the Great Destroyer, one of the most powerful angels in existence and the one who was destined to fight the Devil and keep him contained within Hell and the bottomless pit.

Apollyon was also Asmodeusâ€™s brother, or father of sorts. The first time the Devil had defeated Apollyon, he had tortured the male to the brink of insanity and had then drawn all that was evil out of him. The Devil had used that blood and a smattering of his own to create Asmodeus.

â€œYou donâ€™t look much like Apollyon. Iâ€™ve met him and now Iâ€™ve also met youâ€¦ and you seem very different.â€ She eyed him, hazel gaze curious and intense as she cocked her head to one side. Her tone had a decidedly playful edge to it, soft and light, not exactly how he had expected a mortal to react to him. She was confident, calm, and a little bit teasing.

Asmodeus stared blankly at her. This was not normal female behaviour. He wasnâ€™t sure whether she was flirting with him. He didnâ€™t think it was a possibility, but she might be. He had no experience of such things.

His shock only increased when she raked her gaze over him, thoroughly inspecting him from head to toe, her stunning hazel eyes lingering on his bare torso. His palms sweated again and he swallowed hard as his pulse picked up.

Her right eyebrow quirked. â€œWhy do you lack complete armour? Apollyon has all his armour. Why do you only have your hip pieces and armoured bootsâ€¦ are you incomplete?â€

She could see his armour and his wings? His glamour wasnâ€™t working. Had he done it wrong after all?

Asmodeus cursed and swiftly glanced around him at the other mortals.
