Teaseday â€“ Enslave (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 4) Teaser Excerpt

Today’s tease comes from the book Enslave, which is the fourth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease… I’m on a bit of a VET series roll at the moment.

Varya closed her eyes and when she opened them again, she stood in a very dark windowless room. A flick of her wrist fixed that, the simple spell igniting one of the candles that stood on a chest of drawers. The light reflected off the large gilt-framed mirror hanging on the wall behind it, illuminating the sumptuous and decadent red room. Ebony furniture lined the crimson walls, accented with gold around the drawer edges and gold fittings too.

An equally black door stood off to her right, open enough that she could see the vague dark shape of a vanity unit and sink. The bathroom.

To her left…

Her vampire slept soundly on his front in the most sinful looking bed she had ever seen, and she had seen plenty of beds in her time. A crimson canopy edged with gold trimmings draped over the carved ebony frame of the four-poster bed. Deep red silk sheets covered Andreu from his shoulders down, clinging to his long legs and backside.

Gods. Her heart did a strange flip in her chest at just the sight of him. She tiptoed forwards, afraid of making any noise in case she alerted him to her presence. A wooden floorboard creaked despite her efforts.

Andreu grunted and rolled onto his back, the red sheets tangling around his hips and pulling down to reveal a tantalising strip of his muscled chest.

Varya held her breath.

The man was beyond beautiful, so exotic and alluring, and nude. Her gaze drifted down over the red sheets. They hid nothing, clinging to the ridges of his stomach and his slender hips, and thick muscular thighs, as though they knew her innermost desires and her fierce need to see him in all his glory.

Varya snuck forwards and onto the bed beside him.

â€œCome on.â€ She grabbed his arm.

He looked at her hand on him, slender but strong. She walked away, luring him along the length of the bar to where she had been sitting, and he followed her blindly.

Kearnâ€™s eyes stuck like glue to the back of her neck, catching teasing glimpses of the nape of it and the black velvet choker through her dark hair. He longed to part the brown waves and kiss there, to run his tongue over her skin and taste her, and feel her shiver in pleasure. He wanted to ease his fangs in deep and slow, claiming her and her blood as his and his alone. Nothing compared to biting someone, to the incredible rush from the connection and the intense intoxicating feel of their blood in your veins. It was what he had been born to doâ€”to take life from the blood of humans like a thief.

Like a beast.

And right now, he wanted to take all of Amber. He wanted to strip away the mask and show her just what he was underneathâ€”a creature lost in her, thirsting for her body and blood.

For her love.

He tore his eyes away from her neck, horrified by his last thought and the realisation that his hunger for her went beyond physical need to an emotional one.

She stopped by her stool and flagged down the bartender, giving him a wide smile.

Kearn stared at the man, remembering what he had said. Lonely. The hand around his throat dropped to his chest and he focused there. Did it really show? Had Amber seen it? He had been on his guard around her but there had been times when he had felt as though she had looked right down into his heart and seen the man beneath the armour.

Amber put a tall glass of icy dark liquid into Kearnâ€™s hand, bringing his attention back to her. She held a similar glass. He sniffed his. Sweet and bubbly. Some sort of soft drink. It was cold against his hand but would do nothing to satisfy his thirst.

Amber only made it worse.

Snippet Saturday – Author’s Choice – Heart of Darkness (Vampire Romance Book)

It’s time for Snippet Saturday! Each week has a theme or is author’s choice. This week the theme is Author’s Choice.

For my snippet this week, I decided to choose a scene from my vampire romance book, Heart of Darkness, which features one of my favourite heroes, Aleksandr, a vampire prince on a mission of vengeance against hunters.

Aleksandr ran his thumb along her jaw and looked deep into her eyes.

â€œSeeing you in danger… I have never felt such fear… and then hearing you say that you desired to hunt, that you would place your mouth on another man and take his blood into you, drove me insane with a need to kill.â€

Elise was silent. She wasnâ€™t sure what she could say.

Her eyes slowly widened when he undid the buttons of his coat and removed it, dropping it down on the dry ground at their feet, and then unbuttoned his white shirt.

He bore his throat to her, tilting his chin up, and the sight of it sent hunger crashing through her.

It was unmarked. She had never noticed it before but now she couldnâ€™t fail to. His pulse beat slowly but strongly, each minute marked by a tick just below the curve of his jaw that enticed her into biting him. She counted five before she found the strength to tear her eyes away and look into his again.

â€œI have fed well recently,â€ he whispered, keeping his chin up. â€œTake my blood.â€

Elise wasnâ€™t sure how to respond. He was still healing and needed the strength his blood gave him. She couldnâ€™t take it and weaken him. Even though sense told her to refuse him, the larger part of her begged her to taste him, to sink her fangs into his throat and feel the thrill of his blood in her veins.

WIP Wednesday – Her Wicked Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 6) and More

Since I don’t have a cover for the next Her Angel romance series book, I thought I would use one of my warning signs I often post on my Facebook page.

I’ve been a busy writer, but unfortunately so much of my time has been spent on non-writing work. I was at London Book Fair from Monday to Wednesday last week, and had a fantastic time meeting the wonderful Mark Lefebvre and Shayna from Kobo Writing Life, and also Patrick from Goodreads, amongst others. I had wanted to write a blog post all about it, but haven’t had a chance to do that yet.

Since getting back from London on Thursday, I’ve been snowed under with work for the Unleash release on May 18th, and it has meant that my work on Her Wicked Angel has fallen to the back burner. It shouldn’t be there, I know that, but I have so much work to do for Unleash. Right now, I’m wondering if it’s really worth all this hassle though. Most of the work is for the virtual book tour. I’ve had hit and miss experiences with virtual tours.

To be honest, I didn’t tour with Her Demonic Angel and that did just as well as Bewitch, which I did tour with. I’m not sure I get anything out of virtual tours now, other than headaches and stressful schedules. I get just as much exposure from reviews and my fabulous hard-working mistresses on my street team.

Tours can take up a lot of time – probably as long as it takes me to write a novella and edit it. I think I figured out once that if I toured with each book I released in a year (say 4 novels), then I could write, edit and complete a fifth novel in the time I spent working on tour posts, sending out prizes, arranging everything, etc. I’d rather write another novel, and I think you would probably like that too.

Her Wicked Angel has made it past the planning stage though. I have all the character biographies in place, and the outline is complete at around 13000 words. I just need to write it now. It’s going to be a challenge. Asmodeus isn’t going to be a very easy hero to write. If you’ve read Her Demonic Angel, then you’ll know why. He’s 99% pure evil, with a seed of good in him. It’s going to be difficult to write him well in the beginning and capture just how complex and complicated he is. There is good in him, but it’s buried deep, and for a good reason. It wouldn’t do to have demon minions and others living in Hell realising that you’ve got a softer side underneath that cruel exterior.

I think his heroine, Liora, can help him grow and overcome his upbringing to become a much better angel. She’s strong and feisty, and she’ll bring the guy to his knees. Both of them are going to be fun to write. I’ve written some bad bad men in the past, and it’s fun getting them in touch with their softer sides and making them realise there’s some good in them, and there’s nothing they can do about that.

If you want to know who else is in this book… well, I think the gang is all there! We have Serenity and Apollyon in it for quite a lot of the book, and Veiron and Erin lend a hand, and Taylor and Einar are there, together with Marcus and Amelia. Even Lukas will make an appearance in this one. It’s a huge get together, and I think it will be nice writing Lukas again. Readers missed him in Her Demonic Angel.

Hopefully, in my next WIP Wednesday post, I will be able to tell you that I’ve begun writing Her Wicked Angel and I’m racing through it and on target!

Teaseday – Hot teaser excerpt from Hunter’s Moon – Vampire / Werewolf Romance Book

Today’s tease comes from my werewolf / vampire romance book, Hunter’s Moon, which is the ninth book in my Vampires Realm romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…

The werewolf disappeared into the bathroom, leaving the door ajar, and water ran into the bathtub.

Tatyana looked around the cabin. It was small, but it was probably all that he needed, and more than heâ€™d had in his homeland. This was luxury to him. A home of his own, away from vampire rule, free of the whip and the chains.

She stared at the crack in the door. The water shut off and she heard him step into the bath. She tried not to picture him reclining in bubble-topped bathwater, leaning against the beaten white metal, his eyes closed and dark hair slicked back. Some of her kind would even consider that a sin. She didnâ€™t. Fantasy wasnâ€™t a crime. Fantasy was what led to a crime when the dreamer forgot the law. She wouldnâ€™t do such a thing. She had never broken a rule in her life, and she wasnâ€™t going to start now.

She wasnâ€™t.

No matter how attractive he was.

She brought one of the bags of blood to her lips, extended her fangs, and punctured the plastic. She sucked slowly on it, her eyes slipping shut as the first delicious drop touched her tongue. Bliss. Without thinking, she released a low moan of pleasure and sighed. Blood had never tasted so sweet.

Her eyes opened, the room bright and sharp now that they had changed to their true state. She focused on the werewolf, listening to his strong heart beating steadily against his chest, remembering the taste of his blood. Powerful. Intoxicating. She had never drunk werewolf blood before. She had never realised how good it would taste. The elders of her bloodline made it sound disgusting, and made it clear that desiring to drink it, to be close to a werewolf, was despicable and disloyal.

What did that make her?

Her head was full of him, her mind racing forwards to imagine that it was his neck her fangs had punctured, not a chilled plastic pack. It was his blood on her tongue, reviving her strength, not a month old donation.

And he tasted divine.

Tatyana started when she sensed the werewolf stand. How long had she been focused on him? Water ran down into the bath and she caught a flash of bare skin through the gap in the door. It was quiet in the cabin for a moment and then he walked into the room.

Naked.

He evidently didnâ€™t care whether people saw him nude. Either that or he was inviting her glances, which was ridiculous since he hated her. She was a vampire and he was clearly an older generation werewolf. There was no way he would want her looking at him. Unless he was playing with her.

Some of the male werewolves back at her bloodlineâ€™s mansion did such things. They waited until the shift change between werewolves and vampires, when she arrived with other female guards to prepare for the night ahead, and then showered openly in front of them and paraded around. They did it to embarrass the women and tempt them with forbidden fruit.

She had never bothered to look at them during her time as a guard. She had always abided by the rules and their bare bodies hadnâ€™t interested her. When she had caught glimpses of them, unable to look away quickly enough, she had felt nothing and hadnâ€™t looked twice at any them.

Yet she couldnâ€™t stop looking at him.

Tatyana stared at her knees, ignoring his nudity as he crossed the room, rubbing his dark locks with a pale towel. Her attempt to avoid looking at him failed. She snuck a glance at him out of the corner of her eye and frowned at how good he looked. He was beautiful, sculpted to perfection, his lithe toned body speaking of the power that she could feel in him. The allure of him was more than physical. His scent, the raw strength that flowed through him with each step, and his physique all combined into a deadly mix that tempted her. He was intrinsically masculine. Enthralling. Everything about him awakened forbidden feelings in her. She denied them but couldnâ€™t control her desire to look on him as easily. Her gaze steadily fell, taking in the defined muscles of his broad chest and then traversing the rolling peaks of his abdomen. They led her eye onwards to the ridge of muscle over his hip and she followed it downwards. She forced her attention back to her knees.

She was not going to stare at him there.

It was wrong of her to think such things about him or to look at him with any sense of desire.

He disappeared through the other door. When he returned, he was wearing loose grey sweatpants.

And nothing else.

Tatyana sucked furiously on the blood pack and stared at his neck. He rubbed it, a frown marring his handsome face, and a stab of guilt lanced her chest. He thought that she hated his blood. What would he do if she told him it was quite the opposite? Whenever she said something to upset his carefully constructed and antiquated opinion of her kind, he turned jittery. If she confessed that she was thinking about sucking on his neck as she drank from the cold pack, and that she couldnâ€™t tear her eyes away from him, he would probably leave the room, or even the cabin.

It would be worth it just to see his reaction.
