Payne could feel the questions bubbling inside her and he knew that she wouldn’t be able to resist voicing them forever. He wanted her to. She was beautiful, bewitching, and he couldn’t deny that he was attracted to her, but whenever she mentioned his incubus side, he wanted to leave and forget helping Andreu and Chica.
He could be their only hope though. Elissa could be their only hope.
They reached the edge of the woods and she paused and faced him.
“Have you ever submitted to someone?â€
Payne froze and blinked hard. He had to have heard his petite, enchanting Elissa wrong. She couldn’t have just asked what he thought she had. The dark colouring on her cheeks said that she had and was regretting it.
He forced a shrug. “Once or twice.â€
His stomach clenched. He hoped that answer would satisfy her.
The frown on her face said it hadn’t. “I don’t believe you’ve ever really submitted to someone. It isn’t in your nature. That’s part of your problem… neither side of you can submit. Both sides crave control too much. The incubus and the vampire.â€
Payne couldn’t deny that and he didn’t like that she had seen it in him so quickly after meeting him. His version of submission had been letting women go on top. Hers seemed far more threatening, and alluring. Surrendering complete control to a woman? The very thought had him as hard as steel in his jeans but at the same time made him want to flee.
She swallowed, her sexy throat working overtime, and braved a step towards him. Her eyes were dark in the low light but he didn’t miss the challenge they issued.
“Submit to me,†she said and he almost choked, barely stopped himself from making a scene that would only render him weak in her eyes, stripping him of his masculinity. Continue reading

He growled under his breath, his fangs itching to descend, and turned away from her, casting his hand out at the same time and calling a portal. The black swirling maelstrom formed before him. He’d had enough of this world. It did not live up to his expectations at all. It was noisy, bright, irritating and rude, and he didn’t like how uncertain and off-balance he felt. No one respected him here.
They could all go to Hell.
Asmodeus grinned. Perhaps he could make this place Hell and teach them all a lesson they would never forget, because it would be the last thing they knew before they died. His claws sharpened. That sounded good.
“Wait!†Liora grabbed his left arm and tugged it backwards, her warm hands clasping it tightly. “Don’t go… please… I didn’t mean to sound pushy or upset you.â€
“I am not upset,†he said gruffly and yanked his arm free.
He glanced over his shoulder at her. A mistake. She was so close to him, and so beautiful as she looked up at him with a strange mixture of fear and hope in her entrancing eyes. He should leave. He would if he could bring himself to move. He felt as though she had cast a spell on him and he was powerless to resist her. His fury melted away again, leaving him calm and docile, confused as to why he had been angry to begin with. His claws shrank back and his fangs ascended.
She wanted him to wait, and so he waited.
“I’ve been rude,†she whispered and then tipped her chin up and a spark of confidence broke through the fear and hope in her eyes. “I’m sorry. It’s a flaw. My mouth just starts running and I can’t stop it. I’ll tamp it down and think before I speak if you stay. It’s just excitement.â€
“Excitement?†That had him turning to face her. What was she excited about?

Progress on first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince (Eternal Mates #3) with special SNEAK PEEK!!!
I am well into writing the first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince, which is the third book in the Eternal Mates romance series, and I’ve just passed the 70,000 word barrier, and one HOT love scene! I’m on schedule, which is awesome, and I’m hoping to wrap up the first draft of the novel by the end of next week.
As many of you probably already know, Tempted by a Rogue Prince is Vail and Rosalind’s story, and it’s set in the Fifth Realm of the demons in Hell. This book is everything I expected it to be from knowing the characters. It’s filled with angst, and a balance of light and dark, but as the story progresses, it’s getting lighter, and I have to admit that it’s wonderful seeing Vail slowly beginning to heal and learning how to accept the presence of magic in his mate.
Of course, he still has his little moments, but I have faith that Rosalind is going to be able to get him to step back from the brink and start on the path to healing.
I’ve had requests for another teaser from the book, and since so many of you asked nicely, I’ll post a shorter one today.
Oh… and now you’ll know Vail’s nickname for Rosalind!

Pain. Blinding. Debilitating. Sickening. Pain.
It rocked every inch of him. Throbbed deep in his marrow. Lived inside him and refused to die, no matter how hard he struggled to contain and obliterate it.
There was peace too though, a strange sense of calm and warmth that felt as though it was trying to subdue the pain and drive it away. There was also a weird notion that he hadn’t been alone.
Snow’s head thumped the hardest, fiery lightning splintering across his skull and causing his eyes to ache. He opened them a sliver but the light pierced them, increasing his agony, and he screwed them shut again. He tried to rub the salt and grit from his eyes and grimaced when steel cuffs bit into his wrists, causing sharp lances to jab across them.
His ankles blazed too.
He managed to crack his eyes open enough that he could see his wrists. Shackled and scarred. Multiple lacerations. Dried and fresh blood.
Snow focused on them and his body, taking mental note of any injuries and how weak he felt, trying to gauge how long he had been chained to his bed. Possibly a few days. His senses came fully back online.
He wasn’t alone.
His gaze slid painfully down to the male sitting in the wooden chair beside him to his right.

“I’ll need my blades and bolts back now,†Sable muttered, not quite with the world or aware of what she was saying.
Thorne nodded. “Of course.â€
He signalled his men and Sable realised just what she had asked, and felt dismal as the men immediately tore the barbed darts and throwing knives from their flesh without giving a single grunt or revealing a flicker of the pain they must have experienced.
They came forwards and placed the weapons into Thorne’s outstretched hand. He wiped the blood off them on his leather trousers and then held them out to her.
Sable swallowed her guilt and took them from him. She slipped the blades away beneath her arms and put the darts back in her quiver. The silence in the courtyard thickened again. She wasn’t sure what to do. She had made one hell of a first impression—on her team, on the elves, on the demons.
On Thorne.
She wanted to groan and bury her head in her heads.
She needed a do-over on everything after she had appeared in the Third Realm. It really hadn’t gone as planned.
Sable tossed Olivia a look and her friend wiped the smile off her face and nudged Loren. The tall, slender elf prince looked down at his mate, his black eyebrows pinned high on his forehead. Olivia gave a subtle jerk of her chin towards Sable. Loren looked her way and understanding dawned in his purple eyes.
“King Thorne.†Loren broke away from his legion and Olivia, and crossed the short distance to the demon male.
Thorne’s gaze finally left Sable. “Prince Loren.†Continue reading

“You’re not well.†Olivia reached out to steady him, instinct telling her to help him. She caught his upper arms and gasped. He was burning up, shaking beneath her fingers, his skin clammy. “You need to rest.â€
“I will be fine… with a little fluids.†Pain grated in his deep voice and he swallowed hard.
“I wasn’t sure what to give you.†Olivia pressed her palm to his forehead. A fever? Was it part of his healing process or was his condition deteriorating? “I wasn’t sure what would harm or help you.â€
He leaned forwards and his breath skated over her bare neck. She shivered, a hot rush sweeping through her.
“I know what fluid I need,†he whispered low, his voice barely there and teasing, stirring unbidden heat in her veins and quickening her pulse.
“Tell me and I’ll get it.†She tried to draw back and his hands shot up, fingers closing tightly around her upper arms.
“Oh, you already have it.â€
He struck hard on the left side of her throat and her eyes widened. Shock stole her senses for a second before reality came crashing back. He was biting her. He was drinking her blood. Dark memories surged to the surface and she fought his hold on her, struggling like a wild thing. She wouldn’t let it happen to her again. She shoved at his chest, clawing with her short nails, and pounded her hands against it, striking as hard as she could.
He pulled her against his chest, caging her there, his arms steel bands across her back, pinning hers between their bodies. She wriggled, desperate to escape him, fear pounding down on her and making her heart stutter. He was going to drink her to death.
Tears streamed down her cheeks and her head spun, wooziness threatening to pull her down into the darkness.
“Please,†she whispered, breathless and weak, barely clinging to consciousness as her panic and fear overwhelmed her. “Release me… don’t kill me.†Continue reading

The vampire raged in his sleep.
His bare torso bowed off the mattress and his powerful muscles strained as he pulled at the heavy cuffs chaining him to the steel posts of the large bed.
When they didn’t give, he thrashed his long muscular legs, pulling the black covers down and revealing more of him to her eyes, including the start of a colourful tattoo on his right hip. The lower half of it disappeared beneath his black underwear. She couldn’t make out the design from this distance and refused to give in to the temptation to move closer.
She shouldn’t be here.
Her master would be angry with her if he discovered she had left her post to be here, unable to keep away.
Snow snarled and twisted his arms in the thick steel and leather restraints, reopening the ragged marks around his wrists and spilling fresh blood. He had been lost to his bloodlust for many weeks now and a few days ago, things had taken a sharp downwards turn, plunging him into the darkest throes of his curse, far worse than any she had witnessed before.

Progress on first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince (Eternal Mates #3) with special SNEAK PEEK!!!
I kicked off writing the first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince this week, which is the third book in the Eternal Mates romance series.
As many of you probably already know, Tempted by a Rogue Prince is Vail and Rosalind’s story, and it’s set in the Fifth Realm of the demons in Hell. I’m loving writing the book so far. It’s filled with angst, but there have been lighter moments, mostly when we’ve been in Rosalind’s point of view, because we all know that Vail is hardly “light” material. The guy is as dark and troubled as they get. Oh, and a tad mad too.
I’m already up to 22700 words in the book. That’s good progress for three days writing and I’m bang on target and schedule with it. The book is slated for a possible July or August release. I can’t be any more specific than that as I don’t know how much editing this book will need for it to find the right balance between Vail’s darker side and lighter one. I don’t want it to end up all angsty and depressing. I need to write Vail as he is, and he’s got serious problems, and all of them for a good reason, and I can’t just gloss over what he’s been through because it has made him who he is, but I also need to balance it with lighter stuff, with romance and happier moments, and hopeful ones too. I’m sure you get what I mean. As I would say to my husband, I used all my good words writing and left my confused, not so great ones for the rest of the day.
So, how about a special teaser from the book? This is where I finished today… and boy do I want to continue!
