Character Biography - Thorne

Thorne

Ruler of the Third Realm of demons in Hell, Thorne is every bit a king. His brash, forward nature is blended with the natural aggressive, protective and cocky traits of demonkind. He's a man who is used to living and behaving like a king, issuing orders and having them carried out. But he's also a man who cares deeply about his people and will defend his kingdom with his life.

All Thorne wants is to be a strong ruler like his father was and live up to his name, and despite having ruled for over 2750 years, he still feels he has a way to go before his father would be proud of him.

The unrelenting drive he feels to be a good man in order to take care of his kingdom and make his ancestors proud also extends to his fated female. Thorne desires nothing more than to find his mate and secure his forever with her, so when Sable steps into his life, he prepares himself for his greatest battle and victory yet—winning her heart.

Physical Appearance Notes:
His fangs, short claws and his horns make him stand out from normal humans, together with his sheer size. He can't easily blend in the mortal world. He can hide his horns if he really concentrates but it is seen as a shameful thing to do among his kind. His leathery wings remain hidden unless he calls them forth or loses his temper. He's rough, masculine, but has rugged and manly sex appeal. Strong jaw and a kink in his nose from battles when he was a youth. Very intense crimson eyes. Full, hard mouth definitely made for kissing.

6'7"
Build:
Thorne has a large, very broad and thickly muscled build. A real warrior's body.

Wild russet brown hair, slightly wavy, doesn't cover his thick curled horns. His horns are a shade darker than his hair and ridged, like a sheep's horns. They curl around behind his ears, noticeable unless he makes them shrink further.

Red and bright like fire when angered. A darker shade of crimson most of the time.

Rough, to the point, and doesn't mix his words, but he often sounds antiquated to modern ears. He's brash and can be cocky, and aggressive, and doesn't hesitate to say what's on his mind.
Manner of Dress:
In his world, he wears loose shirts that are laced at the front, with tight burgundy leather trousers and heavy boots. During battles, he will lose his shirt and wear leather and metal vambraces on his forearms to protect them. In the mortal world, he pairs t-shirts with the leather trousers.

Sable.

His broadsword that most wouldn't be able to lift, let alone wield with any skill, as it stands as tall as his shoulder. He will also fight with bare hands and claws if it comes down to it.

Vicious and using brute strength to fell his enemies, he is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Thorne fights like most demons, with little finesse. He is happiest cutting his enemies down, driving his weapon hard at them, slashing through their defences and severing limbs.
Other Skills:
Ability to lead, speak English and the demon tongue, and strategise. He's a born leader, raised to be a king. Thorne also shares the inherent demon abilities to teleport.

Character Interview

This interview took place on March 9th 2014, at the castle of the Third Realm in Hell.

Felicity:
I have Thorne here with me today to talk about his book, Claimed by a Demon King. Firstly, can you tell us a little about yourself?
Thorne:
Certainly, Little Female. I am the Third King, which means I rule the Third Realm of the demons in Hell. I have been the king since my parents passed away almost three thousand years ago. Since then, I have endeavoured to lead my people, protect them from the wars that seem to constantly ravage our kingdom, and improve their lives in any way possible.
Felicity:
You make a good king. You’re pretty kind for one of the demon kings. I know many of them aren’t as caring about their people as you are. In Kissed by a Dark Prince, the first book in the Eternal Mates series, you met Sable. How did you meet and how did you feel about her initially?
Thorne:
I knew the moment I set eyes on my little huntress that she was my fated female. I felt it in my bones. Just looking at her seared my heart and made it gallop. When I had finished assisting Prince Loren of the elves, securing his help in my war, and had to return to my kingdom, I went with a heavy heart. I did not want to leave Sable. I had been longing for my fated one for millennia and it was hard for me to part from her, even when I knew it would only be one lunar cycle before we saw each other again.
Felicity:
Aww. You’re such a poet and a sweetheart. Sable is right about that. You really make me want a big, burly demon male of my own. But I guess they’re probably not all like you. Your relationship with Sable is complicated because for a few reasons, some of which I can’t disclose without giving spoilers about your story. Was it difficult at first?
Thorne:
Very. Sable was extremely reluctant to admit to her feelings and succumb to them. I had to do all in my power to convince her and win her over. It did not help that the wretched elf, Bleu, was constantly hanging around her. I knew Bleu desired Sable too, and that he would be a rival for her affections, and I am ashamed to admit that it got to me at times and we often came to blows during my courtship of Sable.
Felicity:
Courtship seems a very simple and pleasant word for the things that happened during the course of you winning Sable over. It was more of a war than your one with the Fifth Realm!
Thorne:
*laughs* Perhaps you are right. My battle to win Sable does seem far harder than my one against the Fifth King. For the latter I only had my kingdom and my life on the line. I was more daunted by the former, where I might lose my heart and my reason to live. I was raised a warrior, and a king. I knew how to handle physical battles against a foe. I did not know how to handle battles of the heart.
Felicity:
There you go again, Mr Romance. You’ll give demons a bad name. Everyone will think they’re all as sweet as you can be when you’re talking about Sable. How has life been since the events that happened and brought you together?
Thorne:
Different to how I expected it to be. With the war over, I expected some peace and time to be with my mate, but she has other plans. She is obsessed with tracking every single one of her hunters that was taken from the battle. It is hard to get her to relax and pull her away from her work, but I do manage it. Although, it is often most easily accomplished by my offering to spar with her. My little huntress does love to spar. *grins*
Felicity:
I can definitely believe that. Your story, Claimed by a Demon King, is a book in the Eternal Mates series. Can you tell us a little about the series and can we expect see more of you in other stories in this series?
Thorne:
I hope so. Sable intends to go after her missing hunters, so if you cover that in one of your stories, then I will be in it too as I will not let her go alone into the land of dragons.
Felicity:
I didn’t think you would, and yes, I do have a story to write about those naughty dragons. Describe yourself in one word?
Thorne:
Noble. Sable calls me noble.
Felicity:
I think noble is the perfect word for you. Thank you for meeting with me today and chatting. Is there anything else that you’d like to add?
Thorne:
Only my gratitude to those reading this and I hope they have been enjoying adventuring in our world... and I have a need of my female.
Felicity:
The way your eyes are glowing and your horns curling, I was hoping you were thinking wicked things about Sable and not getting angry about something. Off you go!
