Sunday Snippets – CRAVE – vampire erotic romance novella – part two

CRAVE, the second book in my already popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, is out now and I’ve been focusing on this book in my Saturday and Sunday Snippets!

So, here’s the blurb for this hot new erotic vampire romance novella and the first part of chapter two. You can read chapter one in this previous post. Or you can find the parts of this chapter I’ve been posting in my snippets.

His mind has been set on his work for the past one hundred years. Now a forbidden beauty has stolen his attention and is threatening to steal his heart too.

Callum has come to the city of romance on business, not pleasure, but when he sets eyes on a gorgeous werewolf in a nightclub, he can’t ignore the dark carnal craving she ignites in him. His work for Vampirerotique, the erotic theatre he runs with three other vampires, can wait. The only thing that matters now is satisfying his sinful hunger for a woman who most vampires would consider an enemy.

Kristina is on the run from her pack. Her alpha is intent on forcing her to bear his child and she’s not about to live through the same nightmare as her mother had. When a tall, dark and sexy vampire catches her eye, she can’t believe the ferocity of the desire he unleashes in her or the fact that she enjoys the feel of his eyes on her and his silent pursuit of her in the clubs each night.

When Kristina finally gets a taste of Callum in a forbidden kiss, will she be strong enough to resist the allure of the vampire and his offer to share his bed for a week of unbridled, wild sex, or will she surrender to her own craving for the safety and passion she finds in his embrace?

EXCERPT

A firm cool hand on her shoulder caused her to jump. The start of a shriek escaped her before she clamped down hard on it and the world whirled past her in a blur of blue and purple neon and laser lights. A hard wall of black slammed against her and a low threatening snarl curled out over the pumping music.

Her instincts sparked, senses zeroing in on the male werewolf at her back and the dark presence of vampire in front of her. The vampire’s arm tightened around her, pressing her to his chest, and he snarled again, a feral sound that a werewolf would have been proud of making. The werewolf growled back but it lacked the strength and ferocity of the vampire’s, sounding weak and tailing off at the end.

Kristina glanced up at her unlikely saviour, looking past the strong defined line of his jaw and the sensual mouth that had sent her head spinning with only a kiss, beyond his straight nose that said he might be an aristocrat vampire, to the red coals of his irises and the vertical slits of his pupils. He growled again, bearing his fangs. They were enormous now, fully extended as he threatened the werewolf behind her.

The werewolf snarled back at him and she sensed the two other male werewolves rise from their seats, heading out of the booth to back up their leader.

Kristina wasn’t sure how to defuse the situation before it exploded. She did the first thing that came to her.

She tiptoed, caught the vampire’s cheek in her palm, and kissed him.

The werewolves behind her stopped moving. The vampire froze against her, his mouth slack and unmoving. With all four males shocked, Kristina made her move. She grabbed the vampire’s hand, twisted out of his embrace, and dragged him into the crowd. They had made it halfway across the dance floor before she heard the werewolf growl and felt the vampire come back to his senses. His hand shifted in hers and he spun her into his arms. He looked down at her, the flicker of coloured lights over his face turning his eyes from red to blue to purple and back again.

Kristina expected him to shout at her, or try to escape her grasp and return to fight the werewolf, or do something.

He just stood there in the middle of the dance floor staring at her.

His pupils gradually widened, switching back to their normal state, and the colour of his irises shifted, so the lights now made them flicker between green, blue and purple.

“I wasn’t going to bite you,” he said in a low voice that she barely heard over the music and stepped towards her, until she could sense his body close to hers and the temptation to move the bare few inches and bring them against each other hummed through her. “But he was.”

The hard look that entered his emerald eyes caused her to divert hers and she stared past him, not wanting to admit that he was right and the male werewolf had intended to mark her right there in front of everyone and she had been too weak and scared to do anything about it.

“What’s your name?” she whispered and shoved her weakness away, cleared her throat, lifted her chin and looked directly into his eyes. “I think I have a right to know the name of my hero.”

“Hero?” He laughed and shook his head, causing a silken strand of his long black hair to drift down against his cheek. He casually swept it back behind his ear, so it curled around it, and then smiled at her. “I’m hardly the good guy here… but you can call me Callum.”

Callum. Cal. Although he didn’t look like the sort of man who would easily accept someone shortening his name without permission.

Kristina bravely closed the gap between them and ran her hands over the soft black cotton of his obviously expensive shirt. His chest was granite hard beneath the material, the feel of it sending a hum of pleasure through her body as she recalled the strength of his grip when he had kissed her and when he had rescued her from one of her own kind. She slid her palms up to his strong broad shoulders, looped them around his neck, and started to move against him.

He kept perfectly still, the calm confidence in his eyes melting away to allow something akin to confusion to surface.

“Well, Callum.” She tipped her head back and looked up into his eyes. They were locked on hers, searching, probing, as though hers might tell him what she was up to and what she intended to get out of him by swaying in his arms. His pupils dilated with the first brush of her hips across his and his bowed lips parted to reveal the barest trace of straight white teeth. “Don’t you want to know my name?”

Kristina rotated her hips into his and held her nerve when she felt the growing bulge in his black trousers. He looked beautifully startled when she pressed her groin against his, moving up and down his body, teasing him with the friction.

EXCERPT

What was she doing?

When she had fled England, Kristina had vowed to avoid interacting with werewolves. It was safest that way, no matter how much she often craved the company of her kind. All packs had a unique scent, something a werewolf could smell on each other and recognise. Part of her training as a cub had been spent on burning knowledge of the European werewolf packs and their scents into her mind. It was something all packs taught their young. The man now grinding against her backside and turning her stomach with his dominant grip on her was from a local pack here in Paris but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t turn her over.

She had been on the run from her pack for months now but she was sure they were still looking for her.

This was a mistake.

Kristina tried to get free of her partner but his thick arm tightened across her stomach, holding her firm. A spark of panic leapt through her blood and she struggled to tamp it down and disguise it so he wouldn’t sense it in her. She made out she was turning in his arms and he allowed it, his large hands moving to her backside, clutching and squeezing.

What the Hell had she been thinking?

The vampire had scared her and she had gone running to her own kind. Pathetic. She was stronger than that. So his fangs had come out and she had felt their sharp tips on her tongue, that didn’t mean he had intended to bite her. Not everything she had been told about vampires was true. She had thought she had known that, had accepted it as fact, and had always been proud of herself for being able to see that vampires weren’t really a threat unless you made them one by provoking them. It turned out that she was wrong and she hadn’t accepted it after all. The moment his fangs had touched her, she had panicked and lashed out, her heart rocketing and hackles rising. Everything bad she had ever been told about vampires had shot through her mind and she had gone with it rather than telling herself that it was just desire that had brought his fangs out. It was a reaction her kind shared with vampires. Whenever she got a little overexcited, her canines extended against her will.

She should have been flattered by his reaction to her kiss, not sought to knock his fangs out.

She was no better than every other werewolf. They had driven fear of vampires, horror stories about them, so deep into her mind that she couldn’t escape it even when she thought that she had.

The male werewolf leaned down towards her and she stiffened in his arms, fear of him rising inside her and telling her to break away from him, that he would try to dominate her just as her alpha had. She had to run.

His warm breath washed over her skin, turning her stomach, and she shrank backwards, trying to escape his touch. She had been a fool to run back to her own kind for protection. She had probably been safer with the vampire than she was with this male. They all wanted the same thing from her, all smelt her readiness to mate and took it to mean that she wanted them when she didn’t. She wasn’t interested in bearing cubs like a dutiful female. She wanted a life.

A firm cool hand on her shoulder caused her to jump. The start of a shriek escaped her before she clamped down hard on it and the world whirled past her in a blur of blue and purple neon and laser lights. A hard wall of black slammed against her and a low threatening snarl curled out over the pumping music.

Saturday Snippets – Scenes from my Paranormal Romance Books

Today’s Saturday Snippet is again from a book I haven’t released yet.

I asked people on my Facebook what two books they wanted snippets from and there was a unanimous vote that said people wanted a snippet of Hyperion from Masquerade.

The book is in edits right now so excuse any errors. Masquerade is the tenth book in my popular Vampires Realm series and it will be out on May 12th.

This scene takes place at the Creator Day masquerade and is a moment between the lovely Lord Hyperion and the heroine Sophis.

“Did he scare you, my little miss?”

Sophis nodded dumbly. Although, he hadn’t scared her half as much as finding Lord Hyperion behind her. How fast had he moved? She had seen vampires move quickly, had fallen victim to it in more than one fight with Vivek, but Hyperion had moved like lightning.

He slid his hands down her bare upper arms and she trembled.

“Perhaps you would do best to remain at my side where it is safe. I am sure I could provide adequate entertainment for you and would make a worthy appearance in your diary. Something about the balcony and moonlight, and a stolen kiss?” Before his lips could touch her throat, Sophis whirled out of his arms and came to face him. He smiled, charming to the last, and placed his fingers under her chin. She trembled, afraid she might have offended him. He could kill her with little more than a flick of his wrist, swiping his claws across her throat. She would bleed to death before she could heal. “You truly are beautiful, but I have a feeling you are destined to bloom for another. We are both waiting for our love to reawaken us.”

Sophis opened her mouth to ask what he meant by that but he was gone again. A gust of cold wind blew in through the French doors near the stairs to the balcony, snaking through the vampires that clustered between her and them, and she frowned through them to the night beyond. Lord Hyperion stood there on the patio, his back to her and his hands on the stone balustrade that edged it.

He was wrong. She wasn’t waiting for her love. She had only just decided to find someone to fill that position and was certain that it wouldn’t happen any time soon, and certainly not at the ball.

I hope you enjoyed this Saturday Snippet!

Sunday Snippets from my paranormal romance books

Today’s Sunday Snippet is again from a book I haven’t released yet.

This time, the super special snippet is for another lovely lady, Katrina Whittaker, because she also asked very nicely for a slice of Snow, and it’s her birthday soon (okay, it’s a month away, but she deserves a nice shiny pressie right now!), and I’m all about sharing (should that be read teasing?).

Note, again the offered snippet is first draft material, excuse any errors or crap writing. This snippet follows on from yesterday’s snippet… you can read that here.

I have absolutely no qualms about sharing this snippet of Snow, but again it’s going to come with a warning, which I’ve written below – it’s a bit different this time. This scene is from Seduce, the third book in my new Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, and it will be out on June 23rd.

WARNING: The following scene may cause pangs of distress, a deep need to cuddle a blood-crazed vampire and tell him you’ll make it all better, sorrow, heartache, and also restlessness, and irritation. By reading it, you release me of all responsibility for any anger and impatience that may occur due to the book not being released for another four months.

“The restraints?”

Sera cringed at the volume of those two words. Here she was trying to keep things subtle and Snow was shouting it at the top of his lungs.

“You want to tie my brother up?” He chuckled. “You are a dark little thing.”

Her blush deepened. It wasn’t what he thought it was but she didn’t correct him. He lumbered across his room, leaving another trail of wet footprints on the wooden floor. He had the same taste in decor as Antoine. Black, black and more black. His bed was something straight out of a torture chamber though. The mattress looked comfortable enough, covered in black silk sheets and fluffed up pillows. The bed itself though. She had never seen anything like it.

Metal posts as thick as Snow’s arms supported the four corners. The top and bottom of each post ended in wide square steel plates that were bolted to the ceiling and floor. On each bedpost, there was a length of inch thick steel chain with an equally as thick cuff attached to the end. The leather lining the inside of the cuffs was cracked and stained dark with blood. The bed looked as though it should have been strong enough to contain the most feral of creatures, but the posts were bent in places, dented and showing signs of wear.

“Seen enough?” Snow said and she jumped.

“I didn’t mean to stare.”

He shrugged casually but there was shame in his eyes. “I have my good nights and my bad nights.”

So she had heard. She glanced at the bed again, feeling sorry for him. He had to chain himself to a bed, cage himself, whenever he had a bad night. Something told her the restraints were used more often than that. Did he sleep in them? Chained and defenceless, open to attack? One of the first things she had learned on becoming a vampire was how to protect herself by finding a secure place to sleep. While the general human population didn’t know about vampires and other creatures that roamed their world with them, there were hunters out there who were constantly on the lookout for her kind.

“Snow,” she said and he handed the restraints to her.

“Do not pity me,” he snarled and closed the door in her face.

“He is right, Sera. It is his choice. I have always maintained that. Do not make him feel wretched for the choices he makes. He desires to protect others, those he cares about, and that is a noble thing.”

Sera nodded and turned away from Snow’s door, coming to face Antoine where he leaned against his doorframe, wearing only his black boxer shorts.

I hope you enjoyed this Sunday Snippet!

Saturday Snippets from my Paranormal Romance Books

Today’s Saturday Snippet is from a book I haven’t released yet. It’s a super special snippet for a lovely lady, Talina Perkins, because she asked very nicely for a slice of Snow and I’m all about sharing (should that be read teasing?). Note, the offered snippet is first draft material, excuse any errors or crap writing.

I have absolutely no qualms about sharing this snippet of Snow, but it should come with a warning, which I’ve written below. This scene is from Seduce, the third book in my new Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, and it will be out on June 23rd.

WARNING: The following scene may causes dizziness, palpitations, fainting, hot flushes, prickly skin, dry mouth and / or throat, intense pangs of desire, restlessness, and irritation. By reading it, you release me of all responsibility for any anger and impatience that may occur due to the book not being released for another four months.

Sera crossed the black and gold hallway to Antoine’s brother’s door and knocked. While Snow had a habit of just walking in unannounced, she would rather not. Antoine had been angry enough when he had found her touching her brother in a gesture as innocent as a handshake. She didn’t want to think about the scale of the fight that would erupt should she walk in on Snow when he was nude.

The door opened.

Snow raised an eyebrow at her.

She mirrored him.

It was a good thing she had knocked. The darkly beautiful man was wearing nothing more than the world’s smallest towel around his hips and was dripping water all over his apartment floor.

“Can I borrow something?” she said and her heart flipped in her chest.

“Depends on what it is.” He went to take a step back and then stopped. “I do not think it wise that you enter my room. My brother has claimed you as his female. I do not enjoy Javier’s dark moods whenever Lilah enters my room without his consent. I have no desire to inflict such pain upon my brother. State what you desire and I will consider it.”

Was Snow saying that he thought his brother was attached to her? She had figured Antoine’s outburst was just a momentary glitch brought about by his sleepy state.

She didn’t dare hope that he was right. She had tried to keep her relationship with Antoine as physical as possible and not emotional, but the more time she spent with him, both intimately and afterwards when they would talk about his life and hers, the more she fell for him.

Her desire to make him see that they could be together was the reason she was here now, about to ask Snow for something that would likely embarrass him and Antoine as much as it did her.

“Those,” she said and pointed, already blushing deeply and unable to say the words aloud.

Snow followed her finger, looking over his wide bare wet shoulders. His head snapped back around, white hair whipping with the force of the action, spraying droplets over her.

“The restraints?”

She cringed at the volume of those two words. Here she was trying to keep things subtle and he was shouting it at the top of his lungs.

“You want to tie my brother up?” He chuckled. “You are a dark little thing.”

Sunday Snippets from my paranormal romance books

Look, I’ve made it two Sundays in a row with my Sunday Snippets. Now that I have a schedule for them, I don’t have an excuse for not posting them.

I’m going to share another snippet from my latest erotic vampire romance novella, Covet, the first book in my new Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series, as I’m very into this series at the moment.

Javier’s gaze fell to her mouth.

He wanted to kiss her. His blood burned with the need until it bordered on controlling him but couldn’t bring himself to go through with it. To kiss her would be to violate her. Not the bond with her master, but her purity. Just the thought of her soft mouth on his made him feel like a beast. If he kissed her, he wasn’t sure he could retain control.

“What’s wrong?” she whispered and he heard the hurt in her voice, saw it in her beautiful golden eyes when his leapt to them. Her eyebrows furrowed and she touched his cheek, fingertips burning his flesh, the scent of her blood filling his senses. His fangs dropped, pressing against his lips. He saw in her eyes the moment his changed, bloodlust swamping his irises and turning his pupils elliptical.

He raised a trembling hand and ran his thumb across her lower lip, and even that small caress was almost too much for him, branding her name on his soul.

“I want to kiss you,” he uttered and her eyes dropped to his mouth. “Would you let a monster like me ruin you?”

Saturday Snippets from my Paranormal Romance Books

Yes, it’s back as promised! I am feeling super tired today but I wanted to keep my promise and post a Saturday Snippet! As always, it’s a short snippet of a scene from one of my paranormal romance books.

Today I’m offering a snippet of a scene from Her Guardian Angel, the fourth angel romance book in my best selling Her Angel romance series.

Marcus rolled onto his back, bringing her with him, and stopped kissing her. He frowned at the duvet wedged between them and tugged at it. Amelia raised herself so the blanket came free and then sighed when he pulled her back against him, his bare body warming hers. It was so easy to forget everything when he kissed her. He wasn’t an angel and she wasn’t in danger. It all seemed so distant and irrelevant.

She kissed him again, teasing him with sweeps of her lips that barely grazed his. He made a short noise of frustration, snaked his hand around the nape of her neck, and brought her mouth down on his. The kiss was fierce and hungry, everything that she had come to think of whenever her mind turned to him. There was so much passion and desire in him, but such tenderness too. He had held her close to him in that other world, lying on his back with her body half on his and his fingers playing in her damp hair. She had felt so tremendously at peace with him there and she had known the depth of his feelings for her. It transcended such a simple word as care. It even went beyond what she knew as love. And it was something that burned deep within her too.

Marcus’s hands skimmed down her bare thighs and she tingled wherever he touched, sparks racing over her skin and burrowing deep into her belly where they blazed into desire.

She loosed a moan and deepened the kiss, so their tongues softly danced and their breath mingled.

She wouldn’t say no to a real-world encore to last night.

He stiffened beneath her, hands grasping her upper arms, and pushed her backwards. She was going to ask what was wrong but the way he stared at the closed bedroom door held her tongue. She listened, straining to hear what he had, if anything at all.

Marcus lifted her off him and rose from the bed, his back to her. He stood there, stock still and never once taking his eyes off the door. Had he heard something? It was probably just Taylor and Einar.

The sense of danger drifted away at that thought and she swept her gaze up Marcus, lingering a moment on his backside and the material that loosely covered it before continuing to the dimples above his bottom and finally following the strong line of his back up to his shoulder blades.

Her gaze tracked the grey-blue swirls of the wings marked on his skin.

A curse.

Someone had wanted to seal his power and he wasn’t sure why.

Did it have something to do with her, so they could take her from him?

I hope you enjoyed this Saturday Snippet!

Sunday Snippets from my paranormal romance books

January has been really busy for me so I sort of fell out of posting my Saturday and Sunday Snippets. Sorry about that. I’m getting back on track now and I’ll try to find some juicy, exciting snippets of my paranormal romance books to share with you all each weekend.

First up is a snippet from my latest book, Covet, the first novella in my new Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series.

Lilah remained standing on the threshold of his room. Javier sighed, reached out, took her hand and pulled her into the room. He felt her tense when he slammed the door and she remained with her back to him, her wrist held tight in his grip, so fragile beneath his fingers.

So delicate.

She was a rare flower and he felt as though she had bloomed for him tonight, had filled his dark world with the scent of her intoxicating fragrance and given it colour for a brief moment.

He wanted that again.

Needed it.

Needed her.

“Where is your master?” he whispered and turned towards her, his gaze on his hand where it held her wrist. The sight of his fingers locked around her, touching her at last, fascinated him. He had wanted this for so long that he couldn’t deny his desire for her. Even this simple touch was too much for him, filled him with hunger and flooded his veins with the heat of passion.

He stood with his back to her, the warm breeze tousling his black hair, his broad shoulders relaxed as though he wasn’t facing two dangerous men.

But what stole her breath, what made her heart flutter in her throat, was his clothing.

Gone were his jeans and shirt and boots.

In their place was something she could only describe as armour but it seemed ridiculous that he would be wearing such a thing. The deep blue back plate shone like mother of pearl in the fading light of evening, reaching only mid-way down his back, and had two long slits over each shoulder blade. She could see his tattoos through them. Strips of armour in a similar material covered his backside like a short skirt but revealed the dark material beneath. His muscular thighs were bare and taut, exuding strength as he stood firm with one hand at his side and the other still clutching hers. The armour encased his bare forearms too, brilliant blue and edged with shining silver and decorated with rearing silver unicorns.

Amelia stared at him, head light and fuzzy, confused and unable to comprehend what she was seeing.

Marcus was wearing armour.

“Come on.” She grabbed his arm.

He looked at her hand on him, slender but strong. She walked away, luring him along the length of the bar to where she had been sitting, and he followed her blindly.

Kearn’s eyes stuck like glue to the back of her neck, catching teasing glimpses of the nape of it and the black velvet choker through her dark hair. He longed to part the brown waves and kiss there, to run his tongue over her skin and taste her, and feel her shiver in pleasure. He wanted to ease his fangs in deep and slow, claiming her and her blood as his and his alone. Nothing compared to biting someone, to the incredible rush from the connection and the intense intoxicating feel of their blood in your veins. It was what he had been born to do—to take life from the blood of humans like a thief.

Like a beast.

And right now, he wanted to take all of Amber. He wanted to strip away the mask and show her just what he was underneath—a creature lost in her, thirsting for her body and blood.

For her love.

“Then what are you?” Lauren risked a step towards him, relieved when his expression altered and all sign of his anger melted away. “Tell me so I can understand. There’s so much I still can’t get straight in my head. Please?”

When his look softened, concern touching his pale eyes, her heart warmed and she took another step forwards, wanting to be closer to him. Her fingers itched with the temptation to reach up and pull the funnel neck of his coat down so she could see his face. She wanted to see if he was as handsome as she was picturing. She needed to see him.

“Yours,” he whispered and her heart leapt. A wave of warm tingles spread through her. He looked away from her and then back again. All affection was gone from his eyes. His tone was empty. “Your Arcadian. Your protector.”

“I’m not a child!” She retaliated and his fingers closed tightly around her arms again as he stared into her eyes. They moved over her, hunger burning in him as he ran them down her body and back up again.

“You really aren’t.”

She stilled in his grasp, her eyes becoming wide at first as she caught his meaning and then drooping again as the moment of recognition passed and the pleasure of the feed fogged her brain.

Her flesh felt so warm under his fingers. The borrowed heat from the blood and the alcohol made her even more alluring than she had been in the cemetery. He pushed her away, wanting to shut out the desire he felt for her. A deeper sensation coiled in the pit of his stomach, spreading into his chest and drawing him to her as she stood before him with a drunken smile on her face. She was too tempting right now and he was too weak to resist if she made a move.

He looked down into her eyes and stepped towards her again. He licked his lips at the same time as she cleaned hers of blood. He wished it were his tongue doing that, not hers.

The sun broke the horizon.

Slumping into the corner, Winter closed his eyes and his head fell forwards. He would need to sleep light in case Willem caught up with them. His eyes opened when Nika knelt beside him, her knees brushing his thigh.

“What is the matter?”

She toyed with her cloak and smiled nervously. He frowned and sat up, assessing her heartbeat and the flush of heat through her body, trying to discern what was wrong. Was she becoming sick again? Her heart beat erratically. Deep rose stained her cheeks.

His body jolted when her hand caught his and her fingers curled around to hold it, their tips brushing his palm.

“Kiss me, Winter, please?”

When she was like this, the magic making her hungry, it wasn’t her in control. It wasn’t her who reacted to him in lustful ways. It was her magic. It wanted more than just blood. It wanted his power. It wanted his body.

Lealandra suddenly pulled back, releasing him and gasping at air. Her chest heaved with it, bosoms pressing against her rich purple corset top and threatening to spill over. He stared at them, watching the rough rise and fall, tempted to reach out and touch, to take this to the next level regardless of his knowledge that she was barely in control. Until the power in his blood was absorbed into hers, the magic held the reins.

She knocked the air out of his lungs when she slammed into him, her hands on his shoulders, gripping tight. Her mouth was on his before he could stop her, the taste of his own blood stirring his demon until it verged on taking control. He grabbed her arms and shoved her away.

Red eyes glared at him with pure anger.
