Felicity, thanks so much for having me here today to share my latest release, The Wolf’s Torment, a paranormal romance set in Romania in the 1860’s.  Here’s a blurb for your readers:

It’s 1865 in Moldavia, a country nestled against the shores of the Black Sea, and Crown Prince Mihai Sigmaringen returns after receiving an education in England. His best friend, Viktor Bacau joins him. Mihai is intent on modernizing his nation, but he’s also a witch, and it’s time he embraces his heritage. The tasks in front of him are many including getting married.

Lady Theresa von Kracken arrives in Constanta as Mihai’s intended. Mihai has vowed not to fall in love again, but Theresa manages to break the battlements around his heart.

In an unfortunate twist of fate, Viktor is bitten by a werewolf. Viktor’s transformation threatens everyone around him including his wife’s safety and Mihai’s happiness with Theresa. Viktor’s bite is the wolf’s torment.

ENJOY THIS EXCERPT:

Wood snapped. A baby cried. Mihai couldn’t wait. A kick to the door weakened the hinges. With another kick, the door snapped open. Mihai rushed in, gun drawn. Viktor had a knife to Alina’s neck. Michael was in her arms.

“Come to kill me, Mihai?” Viktor’s voice was cold, devoid of emotion.

Mihai froze near the door. He didn’t have a good shot of Viktor with Alina next to him. His shirt was open showing a glistening stone around his neck. A sapphire. Damn. The thing would protect him against poisoning and Mihai was counting on using his silver bullets.

“If I have to.”

Viktor’s eerie laugh stabbed at Mihai’s heart. “I’m your friend — your sister’s husband. You wouldn’t kill me. Now put the gun down.”

“Let Alina and Michael go.”

“Drop the gun.”

Mihai stooped, placing the gun on the ground. Alina’s gaze darted to the table. There were several powders and vials spread out haphazardly. Did she mean for him to use them? He sensed fear rising within her.

“I have no intention of letting them go. Now, you’re going to let me walk out of here.”

Mihai pursed his lips. Alina’s gaze once again went to the table. She must want him to use the powder.

Viktor pushed Alina forward. Michael cried.

“Stay where you are, Mihai.” Viktor turned to look at his companion. “Alina, shut the baby up.”

That was the split second Mihai needed. He lunged, grabbed a handful of the powder, and flung it at Viktor. It stung Alina’s eyes as well. They both coughed and wheezed. Viktor released her. She grabbed the sapphire around his neck and yanked on the chain. The stone fell to the floor. Alina collapsed, falling to her knees and looked at Viktor. Mihai felt a rush of energy fly past them.

“Wisps of buckthorn speak true, blind the beast, his heart impure, bring sight to the man whose aim is just and right and good.”

A spell! Viktor dropped the knife. Mihai grabbed Viktor’s wrists. This was his chance now that the pendant was off.

“King Mihai!”

Mihai glanced at the door, taking his attention off Viktor. Sergeant Ceseanu.

“Take Alina and Michael to safety! Now!” Mihai yelled.

Sergeant Ceseanu rushed to Alina’s side, helped her to her feet, and pushed her out the door, Michael still in her arms. Viktor shoved Mihai against the wall of the room. Damn, he was strong! Mihai did not
have Viktor’s strength, but he did have his wits.

“You’re weak, Mihai.”

Mihai brought his leg up, striking Viktor near his groin. Viktor tumbled backward. His former friend may be strong, but Mihai could channel energy.

Viktor caught his balance and lunged at Mihai again, tackling him. They fell to the floor, tumbling over each other. Viktor’s fist connected with Mihai’s ribs. Pain seared through him. Mihai had to end this — and quickly.
