Talking Tuesday – Character Q&A With Ares from the Guardians of Hades Series

Welcome to Talking Tuesday!

Every Tuesday, I’ll either be answering questions myself, or posing questions to one of my characters from my paranormal romance books. All of these questions are submitted to me by my awesome readers at my Fang Club, a Facebook Group where I chat with my readers. Asking questions is exclusive to members of my Fang Club, so if you want to get in on the action, you’ll have to join the group.

This week, I had the task of posing questions to Ares, one of the seven strapping sons of Hades in my Guardians of Hades series. You can read Ares’s romance in Ares.

Talking Tuesday with Ares

Felicity: Hi Ares!! It’s been a while since we sat down and talked, although it hasn’t been a while since I’ve seen you as I’m writing your brother, Esher’s, book right now. Thanks for coming to answer some questions from your fans today.

Ares: No problem at all, and it’s nice to be the focus of your attention for a change.

Felicity: Ooh, is that jealousy I hear? You know, I love all you guys equally. Honest.

Ares: *huffs* You love Esher.

Felicity: Yeah… well, there’s love and there’s love… and I’m digressing. Let’s start with some easy peasy questions from Kirsty Hatto! She wants to know how is Megan? How are your brothers? Has your mum visited you all lately?

Ares: Megan is well, and I swear she grows more mischievous every day. She’s really settled in with my brothers. Even Esher is coming to like her. My brothers are all good, although we’re all a bit worried about Keras. I haven’t seen mum for a while now. I think father is keeping her tied up in the Underworld.

Felicity: Literally, or figuratively? *grins* I bet he’d go for some kink like that *ground shakes* I take it back, Hades…

Ares: Don’t piss him off… and don’t talk about mother with him like that.

Felicity: So even immortal gods get icky feelings when they think about their parents doing it? You know they’ve been alive a long time. They’ve probably done it quite a lot.

Ares: *pulls a face* Next question.

Felicity: Okay, Kirsty also wants to know which of your brothers do you most want to find that special someone?

Ares: That’s a tough one. Maybe Marek. Guy’s been through the ringer where love is concerned.

Felicity: I heard. I’m sure I can bring him together with someone special. Let’s get back to Megan. Ashley Couch asked what is Megan doing for work these days? Have you discovered a way to make her immortal yet?

Ares: She does nothing for work now. She’s a lady of luxury, but I keep her busy enough. I guess you could say she works for us now, because she’s always helping with gate patrols and healing my ass. I know how to make her immortal, I just have to bide my time until I can put my plan into action.

Felicity: Which brings me to Julie Walsh’s question, as she wanted to know how does Megan go with you into the underworld? Does she have to die or if she dies of old age does she go there and wait for you and is restored to her youth?

Ares: Megan, die? No fucking way. No. Just no. She isn’t dying. Not on my watch. The process is pretty simple. Once my duty with the gates is done, my father will allow me back into the Underworld, and I’ll take her with me. I just have to convince my father to let her through the gate and accept her in the Underworld.

Felicity: You say that like it’s going to be a walk in the park.

Ares: *huffs* He wants to meet her anyway, so it’s the perfect excuse to get her down there, and then maybe I’ll just refuse to leave. *grins*

Felicity: That’s a more solid plan right there. Trick him into allowing her into the Underworld.

Ares: *shrugs* Sometimes with dad you have to give what you get. He loves playing tricks, so why can’t I play one on him?

Felicity: I’m sure he won’t be that hard to convince. Persephone will work her magic on him for you and Megan. Next questions… Angela Brungardt Caldwell wants to know what is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?

Ares: Wow. Ah… it would be nice for people to not assume I’m the Ares when they find out my name and that I’m a god. I wish my parents had given me another name.

Felicity: See, I thought you were going to say that you wish people knew that beneath that growly exterior you were really a big softie.

Ares: *glares* Only for Megan.

Felicity: You’re quite soft on your brothers too. Next and final question… what makes you blush?

Ares: Easy. Megan. She loves saying stuff either in private or in public in front of my brothers that she knows will make me blush.

Felicity: It’s cute how you two are so wrapped up in each other. I think that’s all my questions now. See, that was pretty painless, and now you can get back to Megan.

Ares: *disappears in a swirl of black smoke*

Felicity: Not even a goodbye? I’m starting to think these heroes are just so damn rude, or maybe just eager to get back to their heroines. Well, next time I get to talk with a heroine. That’s going to be a refreshing change, so make sure you join me then!

Thanks for reading my Talking Tuesday interview with Ares and I hope that you’ll swing by the blog again next week to see who we’re interviewing then!

As always, my comments are open, and I’d love to hear from you!
