To set the scene, Rafe, a vampire doing time with the agency for bad behaviour, has just picked up Shannon at her house. Shannon is a demon hunter and has been paired with Rafe for the past couple of years, and soon their time together will come to an end. Rafe sees this is a bad thing as he’s fallen for his little vampire hunter. Shannon couldn’t be happier because she wants nothing more than to escape Rafe and her growing feelings for him.<\/p>\n

Rafe frowned at her but it didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t stick. It melted into a smile that threatened to steal her breath and she averted her gaze again. What was she doing? Her heart skittered about in her throat and she knew he would be listening to it, and he would know that he was affecting her. She could do this.<\/p>\n

It was just one more mission.<\/p>\n

And then she would be able to escape these feelings.<\/p>\n
