Snippet Saturday – Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) – Excerpt

Snippet Saturday is brought to you today by my paranormal romance book Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Saturday’s snippet…
The vampire raged in his sleep.
His bare torso bowed off the mattress and his powerful muscles strained as he pulled at the heavy cuffs chaining him to the steel posts of the large bed.
When they didn’t give, he thrashed his long muscular legs, pulling the black covers down and revealing more of him to her eyes, including the start of a colourful tattoo on his right hip. The lower half of it disappeared beneath his black underwear. She couldn’t make out the design from this distance and refused to give in to the temptation to move closer.
She shouldn’t be here.
Her master would be angry with her if he discovered she had left her post to be here, unable to keep away.
Snow snarled and twisted his arms in the thick steel and leather restraints, reopening the ragged marks around his wrists and spilling fresh blood. He had been lost to his bloodlust for many weeks now and a few days ago, things had taken a sharp downwards turn, plunging him into the darkest throes of his curse, far worse than any she had witnessed before.
What did he dream to make him turn so violent and wild? Continue reading

Progress on first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince (Eternal Mates #3) with special SNEAK PEEK!!!

I kicked off writing the first draft of Tempted by a Rogue Prince this week, which is the third book in the Eternal Mates romance series.
As many of you probably already know, Tempted by a Rogue Prince is Vail and Rosalind’s story, and it’s set in the Fifth Realm of the demons in Hell. I’m loving writing the book so far. It’s filled with angst, but there have been lighter moments, mostly when we’ve been in Rosalind’s point of view, because we all know that Vail is hardly “light” material. The guy is as dark and troubled as they get. Oh, and a tad mad too.
I’m already up to 22700 words in the book. That’s good progress for three days writing and I’m bang on target and schedule with it. The book is slated for a possible July or August release. I can’t be any more specific than that as I don’t know how much editing this book will need for it to find the right balance between Vail’s darker side and lighter one. I don’t want it to end up all angsty and depressing. I need to write Vail as he is, and he’s got serious problems, and all of them for a good reason, and I can’t just gloss over what he’s been through because it has made him who he is, but I also need to balance it with lighter stuff, with romance and happier moments, and hopeful ones too. I’m sure you get what I mean. As I would say to my husband, I used all my good words writing and left my confused, not so great ones for the rest of the day.
So, how about a special teaser from the book? This is where I finished today… and boy do I want to continue!
Remember… it’s all unedited first draft… be nice and do leave a comment to let me know what you think so far! Oh, and a little scene setting. Both Vail and Rosalind are captives of the demons of the Fifth Realm, and Rosalind has been sent to Vail’s cell to heal him after a particularly cruel round of torture…
Teaseday – Claimed by a Demon King (Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series Book 2) – Excerpt

Today’s tease comes from the book Claimed by a Demon King, which is the second book in my popular Eternal Mates romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…
Sable’s world disappeared in a swirl of cold black shadows. She closed her eyes against it. The heat of the sun on her skin gave way to the icy chill and then became a blast of moist warm air. The shrouding silence of the portal shattered under the explosion of grunts and roars and the metallic clang of weapons clashing.
The scent of morning became the odour of blood.
Sable snapped her eyes open and her heart leaped and pounded, quickening her blood and preparing her body.
The first thing she saw was Thorne shirtless and swinging his enormous broadsword at an equally massive bare-chested warrior. His opponent blocked with his own blade and growled, flashing huge fangs as he swung a meaty fist. The blow connected with Thorne’s right cheek and he stumbled, grunting as he struggled to regain his footing and ready his blade to defend himself.
Sable’s hand instantly went to the folded crossbow at her side and she flicked it open, pushing away from Bleu at the same time. Another immense demon attacked Thorne before he managed to right himself and the dagger sliced across the Third King’s thickly muscled right shoulder.
Thorne roared and finally launched himself at the males, taking them both on at once. They weren’t alone. The wide oval courtyard of the dark stone fortress was in pandemonium. Sable counted at least two dozen demons, all focused on him with their weapons drawn and at the ready. No other fought on his side.
The sight of him standing alone against so many adversaries, bleeding from multiple wounds on his torso and arms, brought a red haze down over her vision. Continue reading

Snippet Saturday – Her Wicked Angel (Her Angel Romance Series Book 6) – Excerpt

Snippet Saturday is brought to you today by my paranormal romance book Her Wicked Angel, which is the sixth book in my popular Her Angel romance series. Read on for this Saturday’s snippet…
“What business do you have with me?†Asmodeus casually preened his feathers, preparing them for the flight home, and ignored the Devil’s scowl.
The male hated it when he spoke to him without an ounce of respect. Everyone else under his command simpered and scraped at his feet. As far as Asmodeus was concerned, the Devil had enough pathetic creatures kissing his expensive Italian leather shoes. Asmodeus wasn’t about to join them. He was above them.
The Devil’s right hand man.
A male created for destruction and bloodshed.
“You are to travel to the mortal realm and retrieve a female for me.â€
Asmodeus’s black eyebrows pinched in a frown and it took him a moment to absorb exactly what the Devil had said and the connotations it contained.
One, he was ordering him to lower himself to the role of minion, retrieving him another female for his harem. Treating him like a servant. That irked him. He was not just another of the Devil’s servants.
Two, he was offering him a taste of the mortal world, granting him leave to step outside the environs of Hell for the first time in his existence. That intrigued Asmodeus. He had always wanted to see the mortal realm with his own eyes and experience it.
Asmodeus stared at him, weighing his options. Swallow his pride and finally fly in the world above, seeing the buildings and the colours, and all the things he had only ever seen in the pool on the plateau, or tell the Devil to stick it and spend the next week in the cells, probably tortured, possibly maimed permanently for his disobedience.
Asmodeus swallowed his pride and it tasted bitter. “Fine.â€
The Devil grinned, revealing short fangs. “Good. You will find her in Paris, in the middle of the park near the base of the Eiffel Tower. She will be wearing crimson and black. Bring her to me.â€
Asmodeus nodded, took a step backwards and then turned away from the Devil.
He threw his hand out in front of him and a black vortex appeared, swirling like smoke. It had been many centuries since he had bothered practicing glamours and veils, having given up on ever leaving Hell and having no need for changing his appearance in this realm. He hoped he hadn’t forgotten how to cast them.
Asmodeus focused on himself, casting a veil so none would see him when he stepped through the portal into the mortal realm.
“Bring her to me quickly, Asmodeus,†the Devil said behind him and Asmodeus nodded again. Continue reading

He sat up in one fluid motion, swinging his legs over the edge of the inspection table, the movement so swift that it startled her and she shot backwards, distancing herself. Her heart thundered in her throat. She should have pressed the call button.
She should have strapped him down.
Stupid.
Her gaze darted to the red button off to her right. Could she make it there and sound the alarm before he attacked?
“Where am I?†The sound of his deep voice sent a fiery tremble through her. It was at odds with his lithe figure. The commanding edge to it had her forgetting the call button and automatically answering him, because he didn’t sound like the sort of man you could piss off and live to tell the tale.
“At a secure research facility in London.†She hoped he didn’t ask what she had been doing to him while he had been unconscious because now that he was awake, very awake, that sense of danger he radiated had only grown stronger. Her shot at resuscitating her ailing career looked as though he might kill her if he didn’t like any of the answers to his questions.
His blue gaze moved around the room, cataloguing everything, a keen edge to it. Strategising. He had adapted to blend into his environment and now he was plotting a way out of it.
“How did you do that?†she said, unable to get her voice above a whisper. His attention snapped back to her.
“How did I do what?†He could definitely grasp her language. Continue reading

Sable paced, hoping to work off at least a little of her tension before Loren arrived with his elves. She really didn’t need him noticing that she was wound tighter than he had ever been during his courtship of her best friend, Olivia.
She could do this. Mark had told her as much before she had left his office barely an hour ago. He wanted to give her the title of commander and this was her test. She wouldn’t fail him and she wouldn’t let anything stand in the way of her achieving that rank.
She had busted her arse over the past month, working twice as hard as normal in order to convince Mark and the senior staff that she was the perfect candidate for the role of commander on this mission.
It had absolutely nothing to do with getting a pass into Hell and seeing Thorne again.
Not at all.
She was going because she wanted the position of commander.
A familiar female voice cut off a deep male one and Sable smiled as she turned to glance across the courtyard.
Their transport was arriving. Scores of elves dressed in their tight black scale-like armour appeared before her eyes, the air shimmering around them. Prince Loren led them across the courtyard towards her, his long strides eating up the distance and his left hand resting on the hilt of the black sword sheathed at his waist. His black eyebrows knit into scowl and his purple eyes darkened.
The slight brunette beside him shook her head, causing her long chestnut hair to sway against the shoulders of her dark t-shirt, and waved him away. “I’ve told you a million times, Loren… I am going on this mission.â€
Loren’s lips compressed into a thin line. Olivia was trying her mate’s patience again. He looked ready to grab her and teleport her back to the realm of the elves and leave her there. Continue reading

Olivia had never seen anything like the male specimen on the inspection table in front of her.
Her heart raced. She hadn’t experienced this explosive combination of uncertainty, anticipation and enthusiasm in a long time, ever since her superiors had stripped her of her rank and sent her to this satellite facility in London, taking away her high-level privileges and forcing her to work on studying demon and fae species already extensively researched. It still felt as though they had shoved her out of sight, burying her in the Archangel equivalent of a basement to punish her for her mistake. She had lost all hope of removing the taint it had left on her name in the organisation.
Until now.
The specimen lying right in front of her was her chance to prove herself again, a gift that some higher power had literally dumped on her doorstep.
Blood stained his neck and splashed across his jaw, and pooled at the left corner of his mouth too, luring Olivia’s gaze to firm sensual lips that had her staring blankly, lost in their perfection. She blinked herself out of her trance. Time was of the essence. She needed to get her study underway before her guest woke up or one of the other doctors belonging to the facility barged in and tried to take over.
She shook her hands to steady them, pulled her digital recorder from the pocket of her white coat, and turned it on. She set it on the silver trolley filled with all the equipment she thought she might need to complete her inspection of their unconscious guest.
Olivia tugged on a pair of latex gloves and ran her fingers over the scalpels and tools, and settled on a pair of shears. It had been a long time since she had been able to work on a live specimen and she wanted to start by getting his vitals monitored.
She picked up the shears and cut down the middle of his long black tunic style jacket. Red stained her cream gloves.
“Specimen appears to have suffered severe injuries, worse than at first thought, resulting in a high level of blood loss.†She reached the end of his jacket and peeled the two sides back. She paused, her eyes widening at the impressive display of taut honed muscles under tight bloodstained and bruised skin. “Specimen also isn’t wearing anything under his coat.†Continue reading

Sable checked her weapons for the millionth time, a light morning breeze playing in her long black hair, causing rogue strands from her ponytail to flutter over her shoulder as she stood in the middle of the training ground in the courtyard of the elegant sandstone building that was Archangel’s headquarters in London.
She ran her fingers over the twin rows of small throwing blades strapped to her ribs beneath her arms, the leather holster laying them flush against her tight black t-shirt, and expelled her breath. It wasn’t a sigh. She wasn’t nervous.
It wasn’t. She wasn’t.
She had been telling herself those two things on repeat throughout the endless briefing she had endured, trying not to let her senior, Mark, and the high-ranking staff notice her nerves.
Not that she was nervous.

Here’s more about this book and an excerpt to whet your appetite.
 Claimed by a Demon King
Claimed by a Demon King
Felicity Heaton
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.
Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.
As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?

Not that she was nervous.
Eager to get going. Excited about the prospect of taking command of a unit of hunters for the first time in her life. It was a big deal and an opportunity she wasn’t going to squander. Archangel had chosen her to lead a team of fifty into Hell to the Third Realm to assist in the Third King’s war against the Fifth Realm.
Her belly fluttered.
That was definitely nerves. Not something else. Not a reaction to just his name whispered in her mind.
An image of the brawny demon king flashed into her head, sending fire rushing through her veins. Intense dark crimson eyes. Wild russet brown hair. Rough masculine features. Shoulders so wide that they made the biggest of her hunters look scrawny and muscles that bulged beneath bronzed tight skin.
Not to mention those rich brown horns that curled from behind his ears and that lopsided grin.
He was six-feet-seven of Heaven and ruled a realm in Hell.
Sable expelled another breath. Not a sigh. A girl had to breathe.
Several of the male hunters near the front of the group were studying her.
She cleared her throat and finished her weapons check, using it to push Thorne out of her head.
It had been growing increasingly difficult to keep the brash demon from her thoughts over the past month and almost impossible to lock him out of her dreams. Heat burned up her cheeks and she dropped her head, turning it slightly away from her team so they wouldn’t notice her blushing like a schoolgirl. She checked her folded compact crossbow and the quiver of bolts attached to her belt, trying to focus on them in the hope it would shove Thorne to the back of her mind. What was wrong with her?
Get a grip.
She shut down her emotions one by one, locking them back in place and restoring order. This was a mission. Her chance to secure the rank she had desired for so long now, ever since she had joined Archangel. There were only a handful of commanders in the entire organisation and she wanted to be one of them.
Sable lifted her head and pinned her team with a deadly look. “Fall in.”
They responded immediately, forming five neat rows of ten before her. They were the cream of Archangel’s hunters in London. While that was a good thing, it also meant that they were highly experienced and used to working alone. If she didn’t exert some authority and failed to lead them well, they would branch off and fall back into old routines. That would prove disastrous.
None of them were familiar with Hell.
She only knew the elf kingdom herself and only had Prince Loren of the elves’ reports on the demon realms to go by, but he made them sound like forbidding lands filled with creatures liable to chew mortals up and spit them out before they could even think about drawing a weapon to defend themselves.
If her team didn’t act like one and work together, none of them would make it out of the place alive.
She was damned if she would lose a single hunter on her first mission in charge.
“Listen up,” she barked and they snapped to attention. “We don’t know much about the situation we’re heading into or the territory of the domain. We will need to be on our guards. We know from intelligence given to us by the elves that the kingdom known as the Third Realm has been under attack from the one known as the Fifth Realm for the past twenty-one months. The Fifth King seeks to defeat and absorb the lands of the Third King, and the Third King has asked for our assistance.”
Sable pointedly looked at all her hunters in turn, ensuring she still had their attention. A few women at the back shifted foot-to-foot. She couldn’t blame them for being nervous. They were all of fifty mortals heading into a demon war, but they had back up. Prince Loren was bringing a whole legion of elf warriors and they would work together on the battlefield.
“I don’t need to tell you how important this mission is on many levels. This is an opportunity to form an alliance with the Third King and to gain intel on the realms and political landscape of Hell.” She still couldn’t get her head around that. Hell. She had popped in and out of the elf kingdom there several times over the past month, but that realm didn’t look like Hell in her eyes. It looked like paradise—lush, green, and beautiful—an oasis surrounded by darkness on all sides. “Anything you think is important for Archangel to know about, you document it and report it to me or to Evan, and I’ll gather the information and pass it on to Archangel. We’re to assess the threat level of every species we meet. The more information we can bring back from this mission, the better we’ve done. Understood?”
They all nodded.
“We’re leaving as soon as our transport arrives, so prepare yourselves.”
Sable turned away from them and blew out another breath, trying to expel the tension cranking her muscles tight. She rolled her shoulders and flexed her fingers, and resisted the temptation to perform another weapons check.
Some of the hunters broke away from the main group, heading towards the stacks of black ribbed metal cases and luggage. She had placed Evan in charge of their equipment. As the most experienced hunter in the team, she trusted him one hundred percent with the task and with his role as her second in command.
The tall blond man motioned to the five men he had taken with him to the cases and they began checking everything against the list on his tablet one more time.

Felicity Heaton
A powerful vampire lost deep in his bloodlust, Snow is a savage animal, mindless with rage and a thirst for violence, and trapped with no hope of awakening from an endless nightmare… until a song draws him up from the abyss, restoring his sanity but leaving him haunted by the sweet feminine scent of lilies and snow, and fragmented familiar lyrics.
When the mysterious and beautiful songstress reappears in Snow’s room at Vampirerotique, she awakens a fierce protective streak and stirs dark desires that drive him to claim her as his female, even when he knows his touch will destroy her innocence.
A single forbidden taste is all it takes to unleash emotions in Aurora that she shouldn’t possess, tearing her between duty and desire, and luring her into surrendering to her wildfire passion and embracing hungers that burn so hotly they threaten to consume them both.
One act of kindness can lead to one thousand acts of sin though, each a black mark against the bearer’s soul and another grain of sand that slips through an hourglass. The clock is ticking and time is almost up. Can beauty save the beast?
