Fantastic paranormal romance books in my Christmas stocking!

I have a headache this morning, not alcohol induced, but I am sure that the coffee and chocolate cake I had for late breakfast will help fix that. There is nothing that chocolate cannot fix!

My Christmas Day was rather good. I don’t have children myself, but it was nice to play with my nieces and nephews and see them all excited (and rather loud – why must children all try to speak to you at once so it becomes a battle of epic proportions where the volume is cranked up each passing second?) and to play games against them, my sisters, husband and my mum.

I didn’t come away from Christmas unscathed though. I started at around lunch time by slicing my finger open on the foil around the top of a wine bottle when trying to push the cork back in for my DH. Then when I made it to my parents’ house, I banged my knee rather hard on the pointy corner of a wooden trunk – owie – and that is now bruised and aching. Then, later in the evening when we were all doing lucky dip courtesy of one of my aunts, my future brother in law dropped the bottle of wine he had won. It bounced off the door and landed on my foot! Thankfully, I think it’s just a deep bruise but it really hurt at the time, and still hurts to walk now. Weirdly, all three of those accidents were on my right side. But that’s enough about Christmas war wounds.

I received a nice pile of paranormal romance books for Christmas this year. It’s always fun writing my list of things I want because there’s always a large number of books with half naked men on the covers. I’m relieved whenever my grandparents opt to give me money or a different present. I can’t imagine what their view of the book covers would be, or myself for reading them. They know I write paranormal romance for a living, but I don’t think they quite understand exactly what that means. Romance books have moved on rather since they were young and reading them.

So, here’s my pictures of my paranormal romance book score for the year:

All in all I received:

  • Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Night Play (Dark-Hunter #5) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter #6) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Sins of the Night (Dark-Hunter #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Unlease the Night (Dark-Hunter #8) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter #9) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • The Dream Hunter (Dark-Hunter #10) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon
  • The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld #6) by Gena Showalter
  • The Darkest Secret (Lords of the Underworld #7) by Gena Showalter
  • The Darkest Surrender (Lords of the Underworld #8) by Gena Showalter
  • Deeper than Midnight (Midnight Breed #9) by Lara Adrian

That’s a lot of books! I now have a TBR pile of 37 books on Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1649956-felicity-heaton?shelf=to-read

I think perhaps I need to do some reading over the holidays! I’ll definitely be reading Taken by Midnight (Midnight Breed #8) by Lara Adrian and The Darkest Passion by Gena Showalter. I really need to crack on with the Dark-Hunter series too.

What books did Santa bring you this Christmas? Did you get an ereader? What are you looking forward to reading over the holidays?
